The Clifton area missed much of the severe weather or flooding rains yesterday.

A weak low pressure along the front that moved to our southeast yesterday evening will continue to give us light rain this morning with clearing by later this afternoon. Temperatures will be cool with most highs in the low 70s.

Much of the rest of the week will be dry. Temperatures will be a bit below normal. High pressure will dominate our weather. Thursday may be a little warmer but a cold front will come through dry at night. Friday should be cooler as another high pressure builds from the northwest.

NOTE: On this day 46 years ago in 1979 Hurricane David caused high winds and power outages in our area. My dad’s cherry tree didn’t survive this storm!

A strong cold front will come through our area tonight. This morning will be partly sunny, quite warm and humid. Showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight with possibly some strong to severe storms with damaging winds and hail. Also rain may be heavy at times. Rainfall amounts will average between 1-2 inches.

Some lingering showers Sunday morning as a weak low pressure wave moves along the front to our south. We will have clearing by the afternoon and it will be cooler and less humid.

Mainly dry weather next week. Monday through Wednesday will be cool, slightly warmer on Thursday but becoming cooler again on Friday.

A dissipating cold front is moving offshore today and we should have a mostly sunny day and it will be warm and humid. High temperatures will reach the mid 80s along with dew points in the upper 60s.

A stronger cold front will cross the area Saturday night preceded by warm and humid conditions. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop Saturday afternoon and continued through Saturday night. Rain is likely to be heavy at times. Total rainfall will average between 1-2″ which is well needed.

The front will slowly move to our east and there will be a chance of a morning shower followed by clearing in the afternoon with cooler and less humid air.

Very pleasant weather is expected next week and it will be mainly dry with temperatures below normal with comfortable humidity.

High pressure offshore will give us a southerly flow of slightly warmer and more humid air today. It will be a little breezy this afternoon. A weak front will likely give us some showers later tonight.

High pressure over our area will give us another pleasantly warm day with comfortable humidity and plenty of sunshine.

The high will move offshore and a weak cold front will approach on Thursday. It will be another dry day and it will become breezy in the afternoon along with an increase in humidity. Some showers and thunderstorms are possible at night.

The weak front will wash out over the area Friday morning and we will have mostly sunny skies and it will be warm and humid.

A stronger front will cross our area on Saturday giving us another chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will continue to be warm and humid.

High pressure will then build into our area on Sunday with cooler and less humid air which should extend into early next week.
