Skies are partly cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures are quite cold with readings ranging from 18 in Clifton (the coldest since March 3rd) to a frigid 7 degrees at High Point and Sandyston. Winds have diminished from the gusty winds that we had last night coming from the north at less than 10 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 26.

Strong high pressure building into our area will give us quite cold weather but with much less wind than yesterday. High temperatures will struggle to reach the freezing mark. We will have an increase in clouds as a low pressure moves well south of our area which will only give us a slight chance of some flurries tonight.

Not as cold over the weekend with light winds, we should remain dry through the day on Sunday. A strong cold front will cross the area Sunday night possibly accompanied by some light snow or flurries.

Very cold weather Monday and Tuesday as an Arctic high pressure builds over the area. Winds will be gusty on Monday with less wind on Tuesday.

Milder Wednesday and Thursday but there will be a chance of rain both days as a low pressure system approaches our area.

Today will be a partly sunny day and it will become breezy as a cold front comes through dry later this afternoon. The front will be followed by a strong northwest flow of much colder air as we expect the lowest temperatures so far this season with overnight lows in the teens.

Friday we will see an increase in clouds and it will remain quite cold although there will be much less wind. A low pressure system well south of our area may touch off some light snow or flurries at night.

Moderating temperatures but still below normal temperatures for the weekend as weak high pressure moves through the area. An Arctic cold front will come through dry at night.

An Arctic high pressure will then give us much colder weather early next week. Another weak low pressure system will give us another low chance of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday.

The low pressure that gave us the precipitation yesterday is moving well off the coast as high pressure builds over the area. We will have mostly sunny skies today with diminishing winds and the high temperature will be below normal with highs mainly in the low 40s.

Increasing clouds on Thursday and it will be breezy and cool. A cold front is expected to cross the area with only a chance of some flurries inland. Temperatures will tumble down to the teens by early Friday.

Friday will be partly sunny but very cold with highs only reaching the low 30s. A weak low pressure will move to our south giving our area a low chance of light snow at night.

The weekend looks to be dry with temperatures continuing to be below normal as high pressure builds into the area.

Another cold front is expected to come through dry Sunday night followed by even colder weather for early next week.

A low pressure system will be moving into our area today with precipitation starting as snow shortly after 8 a.m. and accumulating to less than 1/2 of an inch before quickly changing to rain. Further to our north and west accumulation will be mainly from 2-4 inches. Rainfall amounts will be near an inch. The precipitation should end by early this evening.

High pressure will then build into our area for Wednesday and Thursday giving us dry conditions with seasonably cold temperatures. A cold front will come through dry Thursday evening.

Much colder on Friday with overnight lows in the teens and highs only near freezing despite plenty of sunshine. There is a low chance of some light snow Friday night as a weak low pressure system will be moving to our south and east.

The weekend weather looks mainly dry with continued below normal temperatures.

The dry weather should continue early next week but it will very cold.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR NOVEMBER 2025 – RECORDS BEGAN IN 1973

November’s temperature averaged 45.1 degrees which was slightly below normal. The highest temperature was 68 degrees set on the 5th and again on the 8th. The lowest temperature was 30 degrees set on the 11th and again on the 29th. Rainfall amount was 1.95″ which was around half of normal. Snowfall was a trace.

CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR THE FALL MONTHS – SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER.

Temperatures averaged slightly above normal while precipitation was below normal with 8.35 inches and was the 6th driest fall on record.
