Skies are mostly clear early on this Saturday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 46 at my station in Clifton (only 39 at the weather station at Clifton High School) down to 30 at Pequest. Winds are calm or light southwesterly.

Today will start off mostly sunny but we will see an increase in clouds by noontime as a strong trough of low pressure moves through this afternoon. Showers are likely mainly between 2-4 p.m. with possibly a thunderstorm along with some small hail, winds with the front could be quite gusty with speeds above 35 mph. Clearing and cooler at night.

Sunday will be a dry and cool day but another disturbance may cause some showers late Sunday night into early Monday morning, some of these showers may have some snow flakes mixed in especially to our north and west.

Mainly dry weather the rest of the week. Tuesday will be cool but temperatures moderate Wednesday and Thursday. The only chance of precipitation will be Thursday night as a cold front comes though our area followed by dry and cooler weather for Friday.

Skies are cloudy early on this Friday morning and rain is approaching the area from the west. Temperatures are unseasonably mild with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 62 in Clifton down to 55 at High Point, these temperatures are nearly 25 degrees above normal.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR NOVEMBER 12TH:

The first precipitation so far this month will be moving into the area shortly and may become heavy at times mainly ending by 2 p.m. Winds will be gusty out of the south and there is a chance of gusts to near 40 mph as the front moves through this afternoon. Slow cooling after the frontal passage tonight.

Saturday another cold front will cross the area in the afternoon giving us a good chance of showers.

Dry on Sunday but with cool temperatures.

Still another disturbance and cold front will give us a chance of showers on Monday that may be mixed with snow especially to our north and west before ending.

Mainly dry Tuesday through Thursday. Temperatures will be below normal on Tuesday, near normal on Wednesday and above normal on Thursday.

High pressure extends from eastern Canada to our area which will give us partly sunny skies with cooler temperatures than yesterday. A frontal system will cause increasing clouds by this evening with rain beginning after midnight and continue through Friday afternoon. A warm front will move to our north overnight and temperatures will rise to 60 degrees by daybreak on Friday. A cold front will cross the area Friday evening. Rainfall amounts will be around 1 inch.

Saturday will be partly to mostly sunny but another cold front may touch off some showers Saturday afternoon.

Fair but chilly weather on Sunday.

Next week will start off chilly but temperatures will moderate toward the middle of the week. There is a slight chance of shower on Monday with some areas may see their first flakes of the season.

A weak cold front is crossing the area this morning only associated with some overcast skies. We should see clearing by this afternoon and it will still be mild but not as warm as yesterday .

Cooler tonight and on Thursday as high pressure to our north builds into the area but temperatures will still be slightly above normal.

A frontal system will give us rain on Friday starting before daybreak, some rain may be moderate to occasionally heavy with a chance of a thunderstorm. Friday will be mild as a warm front moves to our north. A cold front with this system will move to our east Friday night with clearing. Rainfall amount will be around one inch.

Saturday will be mainly dry but we may see an instability shower in the afternoon.

Mainly dry with below normal temperatures Sunday through early next week.

High pressure will again provide our area with sunny skies and quite mild temperatures with highs well up into the 60s with a 70 degree reading possible in some area.

A weak cold front will cross the area Wednesday morning with only some scattered to broken clouds, it will still be quite mild with highs in the 60s.

Partly sunny and a little cooler on Thursday but high temperatures will still be slightly above normal.

Rain on Friday and it will be mild as a strong frontal system moves through the area. Rainfall amounts of 1 inch is expected with higher amounts possible.

It now appears that the rain will be through the area Friday night and the weekend will be mainly dry and much cooler.

A weak disturbance may cause some showers Sunday night that may be mixed with snow over the higher elevations well to our north and west.
