Yesterday was the hottest temperature since July 18, 2012 and was the hottest June day on record.

Today may be even hotter but with a little less humidity as we will have more of an west-northwest flow. Skies will be sunny. The heat index may rise again to over 110 degrees and an Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect.

The high pressure will weaken on Wednesday and it will still be quite hot. A front will move closer to us by the afternoon giving our area a chance of showers and thunderstorms, some may be heavy.

The front will move to our south on Thursday giving us a relief from this record breaking heat as an onshore flow of marine air moves into the area. There will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Friday will be much cooler with a continued onshore flow and there will be a low chance of showers.

Seasonably warm weather for the weekend as the front moves to our north. There will be a good chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday with a lesser chance on Sunday.

A strong ridge of high pressure will bring extreme heat into our area today and again on Tuesday along with mostly sunny skies. Today’s high will be well up into the 90s and with dew points in the 70s will cause heat indexes to rise to near 110. Tuesday may be a couple of degrees warmer and the humidity will be a little lower by the afternoon but the heat index will again be near 110.

Wednesday will be a little less hot as the high pressure weakens somewhat and there will be a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms as a cold front approaches our area.

The front will be near or slightly to our south Thursday through the weekend giving us a chance of showers and thunderstorms each day. High tempertures with more clouds and an onshore wind will be more seasonable. The humidity will still be moderately highs with dew points in the mid-upper 60s.

A complex of thunderstorms across northern New York state will move south but weaken by the time it reaches our area. Some clouds this morning with a slight chance of a shower. Skies will become mostly sunny this afternoon and it will be quite hot with highs well up into the 90’s.

Monday and Tuesday will have plenty of sunshine along with record breaking heat as the high pressure dome will be over us. Temperatures will rise to near 100 both days with heat indexes up to 110. An extreme heat warning is in effect.

Wednesday will still be very hot but highs will be a couple of degrees lower than Monday and Tuesday. Also there will be a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

High pressure will give us a mostly sunny day today with quite warm temperatures with highs in the upper 80s to around 90. The humidity will be moderate with dew points mostly in the low to mid 60s.

Extreme heat with record breaking temperatures expected Sunday through Tuesday as strong high pressure is over the area. Skies will be sunny each day with high temperatures expected to be around 100 each day and with dew points rising to near 70 will cause heat indexes to be near 110. An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect.

The high pressure weakens somewhat on Wednesday and temperatures will be a couple of degrees lower. Also there will be a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

Less hot Thursday and Friday as a front will be in our area so we should have more clouds along with a continued chance of showers and thunderstorms.

After having some precipitation the last six days in a row today will be dry and seasonably warm with more comfortable humidity and mostly sunny skies as high pressure builds into our area. Summer begins at 10:42 p.m. tonight.

High pressure will continue to give us dry weather this weekend with an increase in temperatures. Highs will be near 90 on Saturday and then rise to the upper 90s for Sunday.

Record breaking heat is likely Monday and Tuesday as the high pressure ridge will be over us. Plenty of sunshine both days with an increase in humidity. High temperatures both days will be near 100 degrees.

High pressure will then weaken Wednesday and Thursday and it will become less hot but staying humid with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms both days.
