Skies are partly cloudy early on this Thursday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 59 in Clifton down to 49 in Walpack, winds are mainly calm.

Today will not be as warm as yesterday as a back door cold front came through our area overnight. High temperatures will be mainly in the upper 70s which is still above normal, skies will be mostly sunny.

Seasonably warm on Friday with partly sunny skies.

A weak warm front will cross the area on Saturday which will give us a 40% chance of an afternoon shower, temperatures will be warm with highs in the 80s.

Hot weather is expected again on Sunday with highs in the low 90s along with mostly sunny skies.

A back door cold front will come through the area dry Sunday night and temperatures will be cooler early next week but still near to above normal.

Quite warm on Wednesday with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon as a cold front approaches our area.

Skies are clear early on this Wednesday morning and there is a wide range in temperatures at 5 a.m., with readings ranging from a mild 62 in Clifton down to a cool 42 at Walpack, winds are light from the west.

Note: Although my record high since 1973 is 93 set in 2017, back on this date in 1962 Central Park had the highest May temperature on record with a sultry 99 degrees. I remember playing outside at a friend’s house and then I came home and took a nice cool bath.

Today will be sunny and very warm to hot with high temperatures well up into the 80s and a 90 degree reading is possible. However the humidity will stay on the low side with dew points mainly in the 40s.

A back door cold front will cross the area on Thursday and with an onshore flow it will not be as warm Thursday and Friday, however it will continue to be dry.

Warmer again over the weekend but a couple of weak disturbances will give us a slight chance of an afternoon shower both days but the chance of rain is only 20%.

A stronger cold front will cross the area on Monday bringing in cooler weather for early next week.

High pressure remains in control of our weather today and we should see less clouds than yesterday along with warmer temperatures.

Dry and warm weather should continue Wednesday through Friday.

The weekend’s weather is a bit unsettled with the GFS model showing showers but the European model is mainly dry and continued warm. At this time the precipitation probability both days are around 20% but that may change as we get closer to the weekend.

High pressure over the area will continue the mild weather today but temperatures will be slightly lower than on Saturday due to a little more clouds. Most of the area will remain dry but there is a slight chance of a shower mainly further inland.

Mainly dry and becoming warmer this week as high pressure continues to dominate. High temperatures will be mainly in the 70s Monday and Tuesday and then rise to the 80s Wednesday through at least the start of next weekend with a chance of one of the days approached the 90 degree mark.
