Skies across the area are mostly cloudy to cloudy and there are some scattered showers mainly across inland areas, temperatures range from the upper 60s in Clifton down to the upper 50s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

NOTE: 20 years ago today Hurricane Floyd caused massive flooding as more than 11 inches of rain fell in our area.

A weak front will move to our south today causing mostly cloudy to cloudy skies and a low risk of some scattered light showers, temperatures with the cloud cover will be a few degrees lower than on Sunday.

High pressure will then build into our area from New England giving our area an onshore flow of cool air Tuesday through Thursday with dry conditions.

Continued dry Friday through the weekend but it will become warmer as the high moves to our south and a southwest flow develops.

TROPICS: Humberto has become a hurricane with top winds of 85 mph and is 760 miles west of Bermuda. Humberto is expected to intensify well east of the southeast coast of the U.S. and may threaten Bermuda later this week.

High pressure building into the area today will give us a mostly sunny day, it will be a little warmer than yesterday but less humid.

A weak frontal system will cause mostly cloudy conditions in our area today, high temperatures will be around five degrees higher than yesterday and the humidity will rise with dew points in the 60s. There is a chance of showers this evening as a weak cold front crosses the area.

High pressure will build into the area on Sunday producing more sunshine and warmer temperatures with comfortable humidity.

Dry weather is expected much of next week, temperatures will be above normal on Monday and near seasonable levels Tuesday through Friday.

Strong high pressure over eastern Canada will give us an onshore flow of cool air today along with mostly sunny skies.

We should see an increase in clouds tonight and tomorrow as a warm front will cross the area during the day, temperatures will be a little milder and the humidity will increase. A cold front then will cross the area at night accompanied by some showers and thunderstorms.

Dry weather will be with us Sunday through most of next week, temperatures will be a little above normal Sunday and Monday but be slightly below normal Tuesday through Thursday.
