Skies are mostly clear early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from the mid 20s in Clifton to the mid teens further inland, winds are from the west gusting at times to 20 mph.

The storm that produced the strong winds yesterday will move further away across the Canadian maritimes as high pressure builds into our area, it still will be a little breezy with gusts in the low 20s. Despite plenty of sunshine high temperatures will only reach the upper 30s.

Cold tonight and on Wednesday with high pressure in our area. A weak disturbance may give us some light snow Wednesday night, at this time possible accumulations will be around an inch.

Dry and cool on Thursday.

Another disturbance may cause some snow late Friday night changing to rain on Saturday.

Dry weather Sunday into early next week, temperatures however will be well below normal for early March.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from the upper 30s in Clifton down to around 30 further inland. However the main issue is the winds as westerly winds have been gusting to above 50 mph at Teterboro and Newark airports.

It will continue to be extremely windy today as two low pressure areas will combine and form an intense storm over the Canadian maritime region. Skies will be mostly sunny and temperatures will be near normal. Wind gusts to 55 mph possible.

Diminishing winds on Tuesday as high pressure builds closer to our area, temperatures will be colder than today.

A weak disturbance will give us a chance of light snow Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.

Another stronger low is expected to give us precipitation Friday into Saturday but at this time most of it will fall as rain possible beginning as a wintry mix.

Well below normal temperatures can be expected Sunday into at least the beginning of next week.

Rain is falling across the area early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from the upper 30s in Clifton down to around 30 at high elevations well inland where freezing rain is occurring. Winds are mainly light northeasterly.

Low pressure will move to the Great Lakes area as another low moves up the coast, rain will continue most of this morning before tapering off around noon, temperatures will rise into the 50s.

A high wind warning is in effect for our area from late tonight through Monday as the low pressure intensifies over the Canadian maritime region. Possible gusts up to 60 mph may cause some tree and power lines to come down. It will be a good idea to secure loose objects around your homes. In the past some of the anticipated high wind events didn’t turn out as bad as forecasted and hopefully this will be the case this time.

Most of the rest of this week will be dry and chilly but another disturbance will give us a chance of light rain or snow from late Thursday night into Saturday.

Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from around 30 in Clifton down to the mid 20s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

High pressure moving off the New England coast will keep us dry during the day today, skies will remain mostly cloudy, high temperatures will be a little above normal.

A storm system will be moving into the Great Lakes area, rain from this system will develop mainly after 9 p.m and continue into Sunday morning, rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches of rain is likely. It will become very mild ahead of a cold front that will cross our area Sunday evening.

Following the cold front winds will pick up and gusts to 50 mph are possible Sunday night into the day on Monday, temperatures will near seasonable levels on Monday.

The rest of the week looks to be mainly dry with slightly below normal temperatures.

High pressure will give us a dry day today despite plenty of high cirrus clouds, temperatures will be seasonably mild with highs in the 40s.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy and continued seasonably mild. A low pressure area will give us rain mainly falling from after 9 p.m. Saturday night until 9 a.m. on Sunday, rainfall amounts around an inch is likely. Sunshine returns Sunday afternoon with quite mild temperatures.

Monday will be mostly sunny but it will be very windy as low pressure intensifies near the Canadian maritime region.

Most of the rest of next week looks to be dry with temperatures averaging a little below normal.
