Skies are cloudy early on this Monday morning and there are some areas with dense fog. Temperatures are unseasonably mild, with readings ranging from the low 50s in Clifton down to the upper 40s further inland, winds are light.

Finally we will see sunshine today along with rather mild temperatures, highs will be steady in the 50s, a cold front will cross the area tonight.

We will finally have an extended period of dry weather tomorrow into the weekend, but it will be chilly with highs mainly in the upper 30s to low 40s and overnight lows in the 20s.

Latest indications are that low pressure developing off the southeast coast late in the weekend will move far enough south not to give us any precipitation, but this system still needs to be followed in case the storm moves more north.

Light rain is falling across the area early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from the low 40s in Clifton to the upper 30s further inland, winds are from the east to northeast around 5-10 mph.

A warm front will be passing north of our area early this afternoon, we will have light rain or drizzle most of today but temperatures will rise into the 50s behind the front.

Tomorrow will be a dry day but with mild temperatures ahead of a cold front that will cross the area by evening.

Finally a quiet pattern with mainly dry weather the rest of the week into Saturday but temperatures will be below normal.

Still there are indications that a storm may affect the area next Sunday with a chance of rain or snow.

CLIFTON’S NOVEMBER CLIMATE SUMMARY:

November was chilly with temperatures averaging 42.2 degrees which was around 3 degrees below normal and the 11th coldest November since 1973  High temperature was 73 degrees recorded on the 1st and the lowest temperature was 11 degrees on the 23rd which was the coldest November temperature on record.

The month was also quite wet with 7.22″ or precipitation which was the 4th wettest since 1973.  Measurable precipitation fell on 15 of the 30 days.

Also our 6.5 inches of snow for the month was the 2nd snowiest November with it all of the storm falling on the 15th into the morning of the 16th.

Skies have become mostly clear early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from the mid 30s in Clifton down to the upper 20s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

As we start the beginning of meteorological winter today we will have a low pressure system move into the area.  We will have increasing cloudiness with rain developing mainly after 5 p.m., the rain may be moderate to heavy at times tonight before tapering off to showers Sunday morning as a warm front crosses the area.  Rainfall amounts will be around an inch.

Showers and even a rare December thunderstorm is possible Sunday afternoon and it will become much milder with highs near 60, a weak cold front will cross the area Sunday night.

Monday will still be mild but a stronger cold front is expected to come through dry, the front will be followed by much colder air that should last the rest of next week,  little or no precipitation is expected.

There are some computer models indicating a possible snowstorm sometime next weekend, we will keep an eye on how that develops.

Today will be a mostly cloudy day with much less wind than the last couple of days, temperatures will continue to be on the cool side.  A weak disturbance may give us some very light rain this afternoon which may be mixed with snow well inland.

A stronger disturbance will give us rain from late tomorrow afternoon through Sunday morning, an inch of rain is possible.

A warm front will cross the area Sunday morning and temperatures will rise to near 60 degrees in the afternoon.  A cold front will then cross the are Sunday afternoon that may give us a shower.

Dry weather is expected most of next week, temperatures on Monday will be on the mild side but we should return to below normal readings the rest of the week.

Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy across the area and temperatures range from the upper 30s in Clifton down to the lower 30s further inland, winds are brisk out of the northwest gusting to 25 mph.

Today we will start off mostly cloudy but become mostly sunny this afternoon, winds will be brisk till early this afternoon then diminish later in the day, high temperatures will be in the mid 40s which is a few degrees below normal.   The storm that gave us the rain on Monday and the higher winds the last two days will be slowly moving into the North Atlantic as high pressure builds into our area.

Friday will be a partly sunny and cool day with light winds, there is a slight chance of some light rain in the afternoon and evening but most areas will remain dry.

A frontal system will move into the area over the weekend with rain developing by Saturday night and continue in Sunday morning as a warm front associated with the system moves into our area.  Much warmer air behind the warm front will be with us on Sunday as temperatures reach the mid 60s.  A cold front may touch off a shower in the afternoon.

Most of next week will be dry but a low pressure will be moving offshore to our south but any precipitation should stay out of our area.   Temperatures will be mild on Monday but become cooler Tuesday and Wednesday.
