FRIDAY  DECEMBER 8, 2017  5:48 A.M.

Our area has partly cloudy skies early on this Friday morning and temperatures range from the low 30s in the Clifton area down to the low 20s further inland, winds are light.

Today we will have an increase in clouds, temperatures will be a little below normal with highs mainly in the low 40s, high pressure will be moving through the area.

Yesterday at this time it looked that the precipitation would remain offshore for tomorrow but all the computer models now show the low pressure to be closer to the coast and this will lead to our first snow accumulation of the season.  Snow should start around or shortly after daybreak and continue through the day, expect 3-5 inches of snow with more along the coast and less inland.

Sunday and Monday will be dry with seasonably cold temperatures.

Another low pressure system will be moving in for Tuesday and depending on the track could give us more snow on Tuesday, followed by much colder weather for Wednesday through the end of next week.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – DEC 8 – Mostly cloudy, high in the low 40s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy, low in the upper 20s.

Have a nice day and get your snow shovels ready!

Dry with seasonably cold temperatures today and on Friday! Only slight chance of light snow or flurries over the weekend!

THURSDAY  DECEMBER 7, 2017   5:48 A.M.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the mid 30s in the Clifton area down to the lower 20s further inland, winds are light.

Today we should have plenty of sunshine with near seasonable temperatures with highs reaching the upper 40s, winds at times may be a little gusty during the day.

Friday will remain dry but with more high clouds temperatures will be a couple of degrees cooler than today.

It now appears that the low pressure area offshore will be too far east to give us any snow accumulation over the weekend although there may be some flurries, temperatures will be chilly.

After a dry day and cool day on Monday another low pressure system may cause some rain or snow showers on Tuesday.

Much colder weather is expected Wednesday through the end of next week.

A weak disturbance may give us some light snow Friday night , at this time little or no accumulation is expected.

Have a nice day!

Quite mild today and tonight with showers! Colder air moves in for the end of the week, chance of light snow Friday night into Saturday!

TUESDAY  DECEMBER 5, 2017  6:03 A.M.

Our area has mainly cloudy skies early on this Tuesday morning and it is quite mild with temperatures ranging from around 50 in the Clifton area down to the low 40s further inland, winds are light.

A strong cold front approaching from the west will give our area a southerly flow of mild and moist air, there will be some scattered showers today with heavier rain showers tonight into early Wednesday, overnight lows will be in the 50s.

The front clears the area by daybreak on Wednesday followed by a westerly flow of colder air, temperatures in the 50s during the morning will drop to the 40s by sunset.

Cold air will be with us Thursday through the weekend, there is a chance of some light snow late Friday and again late Saturday as a couple of weak low pressure disturbance move offshore.

It appears that the colder than normal weather will then persist for at least the next two weeks.  I think there is a better chance this year of a “White Christmas”.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – DEC 5 – Cloudy with a chance of showers, mild, high near 60.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with showers, low near 50.

MARINE FORECAST:  A small craft advisory is in effect until noon on Wednesday!  Today – Southwest wind to 30 knots, seas building to 5-8 feet.
