We have mostly cloudy skies early on this Monday morning and temperatures have fallen to the low 20s here in Clifton to some mid teens further inland, winds are gusty out of the northwest.

A very strong high pressure area extends into our area from the middle of the country which will cause mostly fair and cold day today, however winds will be lighter as the day goes on, temperatures will struggle to reach the freezing mark.

After a cold Tuesday morning temperatures will moderate somewhat during the afternoon, skies will remain mostly fair and winds will be light.

Continued dry with milder temperatures on Wednesday.

The next chance of precipitation is with a cold front on Thursday, there will be a chance of mainly rain showers but may be mixed with sleet and freezing rain well inland.

Mainly dry with above normal temperatures Friday through Christmas Day but there will be a chance of rain late on Christmas night.

Skies are cloudy in the Clifton area with some dense fog early on this Sunday morning, there have been some showers in the area with even a rumble of thunder, temperatures are rising and are near 40 in Clifton to the low 30s further inland, winds are light southwesterly.

A cold front is approaching the area from the west, showers with this front will move into the region this morning, temperatures should rise to the 50s by noontime.  After the frontal passage we will dry out but it will become much colder with temperatures falling to the low 40s by sunset and into the 20s by daybreak on Monday, there should be enough of a break between the rain and the colder air moving into the area to prevent a flash freeze but some black ice is possible late tonight especially inland.

Cold and dry Monday, temperatures on Tuesday will recover to near normal after a chilly morning, above normal temperatures by Wednesday with continued dry conditions.

The next chance of precipitation will be on Thursday with most falling as rain although it may briefly start as freezing rain or sleet well inland.

Above normal temperatures are likely to continue Friday through Christmas Day with mainly dry conditions.

Snow this morning mixing with freezing rain and then changing to rain late today! Showers and quite mild on Sunday! Colder and dry early next week!


Light snow is falling over the area early on this Saturday morning with about 1/2″ has fallen so far, temperatures range from the low 20s here in Clifton to the upper teens further inland, winds are nearly calm.

A low pressure system will move to the Great Lakes as another weaker low is off the Delaware coast and a warm front approaching from the southwest.  Snow will continue till mid morning and then mix with freezing rain and then to all rain by late this afternoon, total accumulation will be 3-4 inches in the Clifton area and 4-6 inches inland before the change over. Precipitation should taper off to drizzle this evening with slowly rising temperatures.

The warm front should move to our north late tonight bringing in warmer air, temperatures by daybreak on Sunday will be well into the 40s, a cold front will cross the area in the afternoon preceded and accompanied by showers, temperatures will reach the 50s by noon but drop after the frontal passage falling to the 20s by Monday morning.

A large high pressure area will cause dry weather Monday through Wednesday, temperatures will be chilly on Monday but warm to above normal readings by Wednesday.

The next chance of precipitation will be Thursday night into Friday and at this time it looks to be mainly in the form of rain possibly beginning as snow especially inland.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning and temperatures in most areas are the coldest since the middle of February ranging from the mid teens in the Clifton area to some single digits further inland, winds are light.

Today we will have sunshine most of the day but with some increasing cloudiness by late in the afternoon, temperatures will be quite cold again with highs mostly in the 20s but the wind will be much less than what occurred yesterday.  High pressure will be moving off the coast.

Low pressure will develop and move to the Great Lakes on Saturday with a warm front approaching from the southwest, snow should develop around midnight tonight and continue Saturday morning before mixing with sleet and freezing rain and then to all rain in the afternoon, accumulations of 2-4 inches is likely in the Clifton area before the changeover with 4-6 inches possible further inland where there may also be a prolonged period of freezing rain.

There may be a lull in the precipitation Saturday night but a cold front approaching from the west will cause showers on Sunday along with temperatures rising into the 50s, after the frontal passage temperatures will fall into the low 20s by Monday morning.

Mainly dry Monday through Wednesday, temperatures will be below normal on Monday, near normal on Tuesday and above normal readings by Wednesday.

Mild with a chance of rain on Thursday.

We have  partly cloudy skies early on this Thursday morning and temperatures have dropped to the mid 20s here in Clifton to some upper teens further inland, west winds are gusting to 25 mph making it feel even colder.

Today will be windy and very cold with a chance of some snow flurries  as Arctic high pressure builds into the area, temperatures will not rise much from the morning lows mainly remaining in the 20s.  A secondary cold front will cause even colder weather overnight along with strong gusty winds with some gusts over 50 mph, a high wind warning is in effect.

Friday will be very cold again but with diminishing winds by late morning.

A low pressure system will cause snow before daybreak on Saturday which will accumulate 3-4 inches before mixing with sleet and freezing rain and then to change to all rain by Saturday afternoon.

Sunday will be quite mild with highs in the 50s along with showers.

A cold front will cross the area on Sunday night bringing in colder air for early next week but not as frigid as we will experience over the next couple off days.

It appears now that above normal temperatures are likely from Wednesday of next week through the Christmas holiday weekend.
