Skies have become mostly clear early on the Martin Luther King day with temperatures ranging from the low 20s here in Clifton to the upper teens well inland, winds are quite gusty out of the west bringing wind chill values down to the single digits.  Also there may be icy spots on untreated roads and sidewalks so use caution if you need to head outside this morning.

Today will be a very cold day despite some sunshine, temperatures will not rise all that much with highs in the 20s and with winds gusting to 35 mph will make it feel quite frigid.

Tuesday will be similar to today’s weather with very cold temperatures and strong winds and dry conditions.

Not as cold Wednesday and Thursday and we will be mainly dry however there is a slight chance of flurries on Wednesday evening.

The latest computer models are now showing a major snowstorm for our area from Friday night through Sunday morning that would produce heavy snow, strong winds and coastal flooding however it is still a few days away so the track and intensity of the storm may change but be aware that the chances of significant storm is increasing.

MARINE FORECAST:  Gale warning in effect till 6 p.m. on Tuesday for northwest winds gusting to 45 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Wednesday and Thursday with gales possible late Friday with the potential coastal storm.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from the low 30s here in Clifton to the upper 20s further inland, winds are from the northwest around 10 mph.

Today we will see an increase in cloudiness as an Arctic cold front approaches the area, some snow showers may accompany the front this afternoon and evening, temperatures will be steady or rise only a couple of degrees from this morning’s readings.

Much colder and windy on Monday as Arctic air moves into the region, wind chill values will drop to the single digits and there will still be a chance of snow showers.  Continued very cold and windy on Tuesday.

Slowly moderating temperatures Wednesday through Friday.

Yesterday I  posted that there was no signs of any snowstorms for our area however last night’s runs of the computer models show a storm developing over the southeast states on Friday and moving further north than was was indicated yesterday giving us a possibility of significant snow or rain late Friday into Saturday, so stay tuned.

Skies are cloudy and there is some light rain falling in parts of the area, temperatures are mild ranging from the low 40s here in Clifton to the mid 30s in the colder outlying areas, winds are light.

The storm that gave us rain overnight will move well off the coast this morning and the rain will end followed by clearing, it will be a mild day with highs approaching the 50 degree mark.

Sunday will have partly sunny skies and it will be seasonably cool, however a cold front will be passing through in the evening possible giving us some snow showers.

Much colder and windy Monday and Tuesday with still a chance of snow showers on Monday.

Temperatures moderate Wednesday through Friday but should average at or slightly below normal for this time of year, dry conditions should continue.

Looking further ahead to the last week of January it now appears that we will have above normal temperatures with no signs of any significant snow.

Today we will have considerable cloudiness but it will be milder than the last few days as high temperatures climb to near the 50 degree mark.

Rain will develop around 8 p.m. tonight and end before 11 a.m on Saturday.  Clearing Saturday afternoon and it will remain mild.

A cold front will cross the area on Sunday bringing in colder air into the region.

Cold and windy Monday and Tuesday and there is a chance of some snow showers Monday morning, highs both days will struggle to reach 30 degrees.

A very slow moderation in temperatures the rest of next week and we should remain dry.

We have a some light flurries falling early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the low 20s here in Clifton to the mid teens further inland, winds are light.

A weak disturbance is now causing some light snow showers over the area that may the Clifton area a dusting of snow this morning and up to an inch across inland areas causing some slippery spots on some roadways.  We should see some sunshine by this afternoon and high temperatures will be around 5 degrees higher than on Wednesday.

During the day Friday we should have partly sunny skies but with increasing cloudiness in the afternoon, it will be mild with highs well up into the 40s.

A low pressure system will give us rain from Friday night into Saturday morning followed by clearing in the afternoon, temperatures will still be above normal.

A cold front will cross the area late on Sunday which may be accompanied by some flurries, temperatures will be near normal.

Mainly cold and dry most of next week with Monday and Tuesday being quite cold and windy.
