Plenty of showers and thunderstorms through Saturday.


This morning we have mostly cloudy skies and it is warm and muggy, temperatures only dropped to around 70 overnight.
Today we will have plenty of clouds with showers and thunderstorms developing some of these storms could have strong gusty winds and heavy rain especially this afternoon and tonight.
A cold front will reach the area Friday morning bringing with it cooler weather but showers will persist much of the day.
This cold front now is expected to slow down and be just off shore with a low pressure developing on the front so now we can expect showers to continue into much of Saturday and it will be chilly with high temperatures on Saturday barely reaching the 60 degree mark.
Hopefully this system moves enough offshore to end the shower threat on Sunday.
Memorial day will be the best day of the weekend with plenty of sunshine and milder temperatures.
A warming trend by the middle of next week and we could have very warm conditions again later next week and next weekend.

Tonight – Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms continuing, some heavy rain possible, low in the low 60s.
Friday – Showers likely with a chance of a thunderstorm, cloudy with a high in the upper 60s.
Saturday – Mostly cloudy with showers likely, high in the low 60s.
Sunday – Chance of a morning shower then clearing, high in the mid 60s.
Memorial Day – Sunny, high in the low 70s.
Tuesday – Mostly sunny, high in the low-mid 70s.
Wednesday – Partly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisory through Friday afternoon – Today – South winds gusting to 25 knots, seas up to 6 feet.
Outlook: Small craft advisories likely will be needed through Sunday morning with even a chance of gale warnings on Saturday, conditions lower to below advisory levels Sunday and Monday.

Another very warm and humid day today!


A weak back door cold front moved into our area with some cloudy skies and temperatures falling about 5 degrees between 5 and 6am falling from 69 to 64 degrees. This front is expected to return as a warm front later this morning and we should have a repeat of yesterday’s weather with very warm temperatures and rather high humidity, there is a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm but most areas will stay dry.
As a cold front approaches on Thursday showers and thunderstorms will become likely with some of these storms will be accompanied by strong winds and heavy rain.
This front should cross the area on Thursday night but rain will persist into Friday with cooler temperatures.
Some of the computer models have slowed the progression of the front which would extend the rain into Saturday morning but for now we will just forecast dry and cool conditions.
The rest of the holiday weekend will be dry but with cooler than normal temperatures..

Summerlike warmth and humidity through Thursday; Cooler for the holiday weekend!


The day is starting out with mostly clear skies, it was mild overnight with temperatures only falling into the mid 60s in the Clifton area. Today we will have partly sunny skies with quite warm temperatures reaching into the mid 80s, only a chance of a pop up shower or thunderstorm mostly this evening..
Continued warm on Wednesday with still a chance of a pop up shower or thunderstorm.
Better chances of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday as a cold front approaches, some of these storms may be quite strong to severe.
Showers may linger on Friday with cooler temperatures.
Nice weather for the holiday weekend although it may be a little cool for swimming..

Much warmer today after a foggy start!


We have widespread fog around this morning with temperatures in the upper 50s.
A warm front will be moving to our north this morning and the fog will burn off and we should see at least some sunshine, temperatures will rise into the upper 70s along with high humidity. There is a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening and some of these storms could produce heavy downpours.
Quite warm and humid air will be with us most of this week and with the humidity we will continue have chances of showers and thunderstorms.
A cold front will be moving through the area late Thursday night preceded by more thunderstorms that may become severe.
Cooler and less humid on Friday but there may still be some showers around especially in the morning.
The Memorial Day weekend looks quite pleasant but with slightly below normal temperatures.

Cloudy, cool and damp Sunday; Warmer and more humid week coming up!


More clouds and even some unexpected sprinkles occurred yesterday and temperatures were about 10 degrees lower than was in my forecast.
This morning we still have cloudy skies with some drizzle and light rain around the area, temperatures are in the 50s.
More of the same today as we have a moist onshore flow of cool air that will keep overcast conditions along with some light rain.
A warm front will be washing out to our south with a southerly flow of warmer and more humid air into the area on Monday along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms although there may be some sunshine also.
The warm and humid weather with a chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue most of the upcoming week although most of the time it will remain dry, temperatures should mainly be in the upper 70s to near 80.
A cold front coming through on Friday may push the warm and humid air offshore and the Memorial Day weekend at this point looks dry with lower than normal temperatures.

Outlook – Small craft advisory may be extended until Monday for hazardous seas, drop below advisory levels Tuesday and Wednesday but may be needed again on Thursday.
