A little snow today!

At 6am this morning flurries have started in the Clifton area but reports from Byram and West Milford are saying that light snow has been falling and starting to cover the ground.. Light snow will continue most of the day but most of the amounts will be on the light side with not much if any right along the coast, and inch around the Clifton area and 2-3″ inland across Morris, western Passaic and Sussex counties with up to 4″ in Northeast Pennsylvania. The snow will taper off this evening. Chilly but dry weather into Friday and then a warming trend starts on the weekend although there will be plenty of clouds around. Quite mild into the middle of next week…

The forecast:
Today – Light snow, may be mixed with rain at times, high in the mid-upper 30s.

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisory issued for this evening into tonight. Northeast wind today gusting to 20 knots increasing tonight to gusts to 30 knots, seas increasing to 4-5 feet.
Outlook – Advisories will likely to be continued into Thursday then drop below advisory levels later Thursday through the weekend!

Enjoy this little November snow!

Quiet weather for Monday before a little light snow on Tuesday!

Today we will have some early morning clouds then become mostly sunny, it will feel more pleasant than the weekend as the temperature will be a few degrees milder with much less wind. The system moving through on Tuesday will give us some morning light snow that will mix with rain in the afternoon before ending as a little light snow and flurries at night, the system is not all that strong and will move quickly through the area so only minor accumulations are expected with about an inch or two mostly on colder surfaces. Mainly dry and chilly weather the rest of the week before we get milder on the weekend with some showers possible. Next week still looks mild, in fact temperatures on Monday may approach 60 degrees.

The forecast:
Today – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 40s.
Tonight – Becoming cloudy with a chance of snow after midnight, low in the low 30s.
Tuesday – Cloudy with light snow in the morning, mixing with rain in the afternoon and changing back to light snow or flurries before ending in the evening, high in the upper 30s.
Wednesday – Mostly cloudy in the morning then becoming partly sunny, high near 40.
Thursday – Partly sunny, high near 40
Friday – Partly sunny, high again around 40.
Saturday – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid-upper 40s.
Sunday – Mostly cloudy and milder, high in the low 50s.

Marine forecast: Today – West-northwest wind to 13 knots, seas 2 feet.
Only chance of advisory level winds and seas would be Wednesday and Wednesday night, otherwise good boating conditions the rest of the week.

Have a good day! Big win last night for the Giants!!!

Cool and breezy Sunday, some snow likely Tuesday!

Below normal temperatures will continue today and it will be breezy but not as windy as yesterday, plenty of cloudiness especially in the afternoon.. More sun on Monday with temperatures rising a couple of degrees.. The system that is going to affect us from around Tuesday morning into Tuesday night will give us mostly light snow and at this time my guess of snow amounts is around 2-3″. Cool weather will prevail through Friday before a milder trend begins next weekend and continues into at least the middle of next week.

The forecast:
Today – Partly sunny this morning then becoming mostly cloudy, highs in the low 40s.
Tonight – Partly cloudy and cold low in the upper 20s.
Monday – Sunny, high in the mid 40s.
Tuesday and Tuesday night – Cloudy with snow likely, high in the upper 30s. Accumulation 2-3″.
Wednesday – Mostly cloudy, high in the low 40s.
Thursday – Mostly sunny, high in the low 40s.
Friday – Mostly sunny, high around 40.
Saturday – Partly sunny, high in the mid-upper 40s.
Sunday – Mostly sunny, high in the low 50s.

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisory until late this afternoon; Today – West winds gusting to 30 knots, seas up to 4 feet.
Outlook: Sub-advisory level winds and seas on Monday but will advisories will likely be needed later on Tuesday through Thursday as the storm system moves through the ocean waters.

Have a great day: And go Giants, beat those Packers tonight!
