A warm front passed north of us yesterday with some cloudy skies and even a few drops of rain. We are now in the warm sector as southerly winds will boost afternoon highs into the 60s today and Monday. On Tuesday a cold front will be passing through with some showers, the front will be followed by cooler and drier air that should last through the rest of the week.

Monday – Mostly sunny with highs again in the mid 60s.
Tuesday – Mostly cloudy with morning showers, highs in the mid 50s

Today we will have more clouds than yesterday with temperatures around the same but it will feel more comfortable as we will have less wind.. Mostly clear Sunday and Monday with temperatures rising into the 60s nearly 10 degrees warmer than normal.. A cold front will pass through on Tuesday with some showers, after the frontal passage dry weather will prevail with seasonably cool temperatures..

The storm that was responsible for the snow on Wednesday has moved to the northeast of Cape Cod as high pressure builds behind the storm, today will be milder with highs getting close to the normal 50s, still it will be a bit breezy. Sunny weather will prevail on the weekend and into early next week with temperatures moderating reaching the mid 60s on Sunday and upper 60s on Monday. A cold front will be moving through on Tuesday with a chance of showers, cooler behind the front but it will only be a bit below normal from Wednesday through the end of next week..

Well the nor’easter is moving east of Cape Cod, this storm didn’t give us much wind as expected but it dumped a lot more snow.. In Clifton we received a little over four inches of the white stuff which made it the second earliest snow accumulation in the 40 years I have been keeping records, the earliest was the October 29th storm of last year., however up to a foot of snow was reported in parts of Monmouth and Ocean counties.Luckily most of the leaves are off the trees so we didn’t get as many tree limbs coming down but there is still over 300,000 state customers without power for the 10th day.
Today the sun will come out later this morning with temperatures rising into the upper 40s, then fair and mild will start Friday with highs in the 50s and then 60s from Sunday through next Tuesday which will fell a whole lot better than what we have had.

Wednesday afternoon update: Temperatures have dropped to the freezing point this afternoon on northerly winds, accumulations in our area should be 3-6 inches. Less wind is occurring than what was in the forecast from this morning along with less coastal flooding.. Still with heavy wet snow and winds possibly gusting to 35MPH there is a threat of power outages in the area.. The precipitation will taper off tomorrow morning possibly changing back to rain before ending.. Much improved weather on Friday into the weekend in fact temperatures may rise to just short of the 70 degree mark on Sunday… Let’s hope!
