Mild Monday with showers developing this afternoon!


It was mild this morning with temperatures starting off in the upper 50s and it is a bit humid also. A cold front will be passing through this evening, before the front southwest winds will boast temperatures back in the low 70s, most of the showers will fall between 3-9PM.
Tuesday will be a cooler day but not as chilly as Saturday morning. Milder again for Wednesday and Thursday and it will be dry. Rain chances increase for Saturday into the weekend with temperatures staying seasonably mild.

Tonight – Evening showers then clearing, lows by morning in the upper 40s.
Tuesday – Sunny, bit breezy, high in the low 60s.
Wednesday – Mostly sunny, high near 70.

Friday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, high near 70.
Saturday – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid 60s.
Sunday – Partly sunny – high in the mid 60s.

Much milder after yesterday’s chill!


Temperatures this morning are about 20 degrees higher than yesterday and despite mostly cloudy skies readings today will approach 70 degrees, it will be breezy. An even milder night tonight and temperatures on Monday will be in the mid 70s, however a cold front will be crossing the area on Monday night with afternoon and evening showers. Tuesday will be cooler but not as extreme as yesterday. Mild and dry Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances increase toward the weekend. Long range models show warmer than temperatures into the end of October so it appears that yesterday’s morning cold temperatures may not return till November.

Outlook: Small craft advisory will likely be needed for Tuesday for winds and seas and may also be needed Thursday and Friday for seas as swells for Tropical Storm Rafael well out in the Atlantic starts affecting the ocean waters..

Many record low temperatures this morning!


Temperatures this morning ranged from 22 degrees in Walpack in Sussex County to 32 degrees here in Clifton, widespread frost and freezes have ended the growing season in our area. With bright sunny skies today temperatures will rebound into the mid 50s by this afternoon. Tonight will not nearly be as chilly as this morning with most lows about 15 degrees higher than this morning. On Sunday a southwest flow will bring much milder air into the area with highs reaching the low 70s despite mostly cloudy skies, we may even have a couple of sprinkles in the morning. Monday will be quite mild with highs in the mid 70s. After the cold front passes it will be seasonable cool for the rest of next week with highs mostly in the 60s.

Tonight – Increasing clouds. lows in the mid 40s.
Sunday – Slight chance of a morning sprinkle, mostly cloudy and much milder, highs reaching the low 70s.
Monday – Cloudy with showers likely by later in the afternoon, high in the mid 70s.
Tuesday – Chance of a morning shower then partly sunny, high in the mid 60s.
Wednesday – Sunny, high in the mid 60s.
Thursday – Partly sunny, high in the upper 60s.
Friday – Cloudy, high in the upper 60s.

Marine Forecast: Today – Winds becoming southerly around 10 knots, seas 2 feet.
Outlook – Small craft advisories may be needed on Sunday and again on Tuesday.

Freeze Warning for tonight!


Yesterday was a clear and crisp fall day and as we wake up this morning temperatures have fallen into the upper 30s. Today another cold front will be crossing the area we may have some clouds but we should have no rain, the front will be followed by a gusty northwest wind and clearing skies. Tonight we will have our first widespread freeze with readings dropping to the low 30s in the Clifton area with many 20s in the colder suburbs. Saturday will be chilly but dry. Sunday will be much milder with temperatures reaching the low 70s we will also have a chance of a shower or two. Monday will also be mild but another cold front will be crossing the area Monday night, the air behind it will not be as cold as this weekend with highs mostly in the 60s. Little or no rain most of next week..

Tonight – Freeze warning – clear with lows in the low 30s.

Chilly and dry for your Thursday.


Yesterday skies cleared in the afternoon and it was seasonably mild but a cold front came through and this morning we are down to the low 40s, today will be clear and cool with highs near 60.  Another cold front will be coming through tomorrow, it will get quite windy in the afternoon, highs will be similar as today’s.  Friday night there will be widespread frost and freezes as winds will become nearly calm and lows will dip down to the low-mid 30s here but in the 20s in the outlying suburbs.  Saturday afternoon will be clear and cool then a warm up by Sunday with temperatures rising into the 70s.  Mild again on Monday and most of next week should stay seasonably mild.

The forecast: Today – Sunny, highs near 60.

Tonight: – Clear, low in the mid 40s.

Friday – Some clouds in the morning then becoming mostly sunny, windy, highs near 60.

Friday night – Clear with frost likely low in the mid 30s, 20s in the normally colder suburbs.

Sunday – Partly sunny and warmer with a chance of showers, highs in the low 70s.

Monday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the low 70s.

Tuesday – Mostly sunny – high in the mid 60s.
