Heavy rain to affect Northern New Jersey today, flood watches issued! Severe weather likely across Southern New Jersey!

Some light rain has moved into Northern New Jersey this morning and the next few hours will will occasional rain which will be mostly light. The heaviest rain will fall this afternoon and evening as a rather strong low pressure will be moving from Pennsylvania through Central New Jersey. Total rainfall for our area will be around 2 1/2 inches which is lower than was in the forecast yesterday and hopefully that trend will continue to keep flooding at a minimum. High temperatures will only be in the 60s in our area but well up into the 80s across the southern part of our state.
On Friday the storm will move offshore, the morning hours could be quite windy but these winds will diminish as the day goes on, there is still a chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm but no widespread rains as today.
Excellent weather for most of the weekend with seasonably warm temperatures and comfortable humidity levels, however some showers may develop Sunday evening.
More showers again on Monday and Tuesday.
