Finally out of the deep freeze; Quite mild Super Bowl; Watching a couple of storms for next week!!


Skies are cloudy at daybreak today with temperatures ranging from the low 20s in the Clifton area to some teens inland. These readings are more than 10 degrees warmer than the last few mornings and near normal for this time of day in late January .

Clouds will persist today with temperatures rising to near the 40 degree mark.

Quite nice on Saturday with highs reaching the 40s…

There is a chance of some light rain early on Sunday, it will be quite mild with readings in the upper 40s.

Game time temperature for the Super Bowl will be around 40 degrees, it will be cloudy but dry.  In fact it may not even be the coldest Super Bowl ever since in 1972 in New Orleans temperatures were in the 30s then, so go figure…

It will be colder on Monday with a chance of some light snow,

Dry on Tuesday.

A stronger storm will likely move into our area on Wednesday, too early to get into details but it appears at this time that the precipitation will start out as snow changing to rain and then back to snow again.

There is a chance of another storm for next weekend but again it is too early to get into details for this storm also… So stay tuned!!!

Moderating temperatures today through the weekend; Stormy middle of next week!


Another bitterly cold morning with most readings are in the upper single digits in the Clifton area.  Inland Southern New Jersey many temperatures have fallen well below zero due clear skies, calm winds and heavier snowpack in  those areas.

Plenty of sunshine today with permit the temperatures to rise to near the 30 degree mark. Not as cold tonight with increasing cloudiness and a southwest flow.

Milder trend continues Friday into the weekend with most high temperatures in the 40s.

Great weather for the Super Bowl with temperatures in the low 40s at the start of the game falling to the 30s by the end.

Cooler weather to start next week, there is a slight chance of some light snow on Monday but a stronger storm will be moving into the area on Wednesday.  Heavy precipitation is likely that may be in the form of rain, ice or snow depend on the track of the low pressure moving up from the Gulf states..

One more very cold day; Moderating trend starts on Thursday! Mild Super Bowl!!!


Light snow has ended in the Clifton area after we received just under an inch of accumulation, less fell to our north and west and more to our south and east. Temperatures are very cold once again at daybreak ranging from 10 degrees in the Clifton area to the single digits inland.  Winds are light.

Today we will have gradual clearing with highs a couple of degrees higher than on Tuesday.

We finally get out of the deep freeze starting on Thursday, temperatures will reach near freezing and with plenty of sunshine and light winds it will feel much more comfortable than the last few days.

Warming trend continues Friday through Sunday with temperatures reaching the mild 40s by the weekend, most areas will remain dry through this time period.

Looks like it will be rather mild for the big game on Sunday with game time temperature around 40 falling to the 30s by the end of the contest.

Although it will be not as cold next week there we will have chances for some winter type precipitation on Monday and again next Wednesday.

Back to the deep freeze!


Skies are mostly cloudy in the Clifton area and temperatures have fallen to the 10 degree mark, with the low single digits further inland.

Today we will have mostly sunny skies, winds will be diminishing as the day goes on with highs well below normal.

The storm system that will affect the southeast states tonight and early Wednesday may come close enough to us to give us some light snow or flurries, no accumulation is expected in the Clifton area but up to 1-2 inches could fall across Cape May and Atlantic counties of the state.  Temperatures on Wednesday will reach the mid 20s.

After another chill morning on Thursday temperatures will moderate to around 30.

Temperatures will climb to near the 40 degree mark on Friday.

On Saturday a week cold front moving into the area may cause some light rain or snow.

Clearing weather for the Super Bowl seems likely at this time with temperatures at game time in the mid 30s, winds should be light.

Seasonable cold weather early next week.

Cloudy Monday with a chance of some light rain or snow; More Arctic air moves in tonight!


Temperatures this morning in the Clifton area are in the mid 20s under cloudy skies.

Today will remain cloudy with a chance of light snow that may mix with a little rain as temperatures rise to just above freezing for the first time in a week.  Another Arctic cold front will move through this afternoon and temperatures will plunge to the teens by midnight along with strong gusty winds.

Arctic air will be over our area through Thursday with very cold temperatures. We should stay dry during this period, however a storm system that will give winter weather to the Gulf states will be moving just offshore that may clip the southeast part of New Jersey with some light snow..

Moderating trend later Thursday into the weekend.  Precipitation in the form of rain or snow may affect the area later Saturday into early Sunday morning.

The weather for the Super Bowl – It should be dry with a game time temperature of 37 degrees falling to the low 30s by the end of the game, winds should be light.. Confidence to this forecast is low so stay tuned for further updates.

Temperatures this morning in the Clifton area are in the lower teens, skies are mostly clear, winds are around 10 MPH..

Today temperatures will not rise all that much only reaching the low 20s, clouds will be on the increase but no precipitation is expected.

Tonight temperatures will not fall and may eve rise a bit overnight on southwest winds.

Monday we may see temperatures above freezing but that will not last long as another Arctic cold front will be moving through around midday possibly accompanied by some light snow or flurries.

Much colder Monday night through Wednesday with low in the single digits once again with highs Tuesday and Wednesday only around 20, mostly fair conditions are expected.

After a chilly morning on Thursday temperatures will moderate during the day, skies will remain mostly fair..

Continued mostly fair on Friday and slightly milder.

Milder next weekend but there is a chance of morning snow or rain showers for the Super Bowl.  Present indications that the weather won’t be that bad for the game with temperatures in the upper 30s to around 40.

Accumulations should be less than and inch.  Much colder again tonight with temperatures falling back to the low teens.  It will be quite windy throughout the day and tonight.

Sunday will be mostly sunny but quite cold again with highs only around 20 degrees.

Briefly milder again on Monday with a slight chance of snow showers as yet another Arctic front will be coming through dropping temperatures back to the single digits by Tuesday morning.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be frigid with mostly fair skies.

Moderating trend at the end of next week with highs reaching the low 30s by Friday..

Present indications are that Super Bowl Sunday will be milder with highs near 40 with a possibility of snow changing to rain…

Another cold day this Friday with a little snow on Saturday!


Skies are mostly clear in the Clifton area and the temperature is 6 degrees, winds are light.  Some temperatures this morning:  Budd Lake +1; Barnegat +7; Honesdale, Pa 0; Highland Ny +7 and Englewood Fl  +44.

Today we will have mostly sunny skies but temperatures will be frigid once again with highs only in the upper teens.

A little snow will occur on Saturday mostly in the afternoon, we could pick up another 1-2 inches, it will become quite windy and even though the temperatures will reach the upper 20s it will still feel very cold.  Blowing snow Saturday night.

Frigid weather again on Sunday with mostly sunny skies and highs only reaching 20 degrees.

A little milder on Monday but again a chance of some light snow in the morning.

Bitter cold again Tuesday through Thursday and it should stay dry but I am still watching a storm that should stay offshore on Wednesday but it will be something to keep an eye on in case it decides to come closer to the coast

Very cold again this morning with a temperature of 3 degrees in Clifton with some below zero readings in the area, the winds have diminished so wind chills are not as extreme as yesterday, skies are partly to mostly cloudy.

Today we will have partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of flurries, high temperatures may be a couple of degrees higher than yesterday but the winds will pick up somewhat this afternoon.

Dry and frigid again on Friday.

Some light snow is likely on Saturday and we may pick up a couple inches of snow to add to our snow pack. Temperatures may rise to the balmy upper 20s.

Dry and cold on Sunday.

Monday should stay dry as most of the precipitation with the next system stays to our north, temperatures will not be as cold maybe even reaching the 30 degree mark.

Frigid again next Tuesday and Wednesday with mostly fair conditions.

At this time the computer models are indicating cold and dry weather for the Super Bowl with game time temperatures in the upper 20s.  Still too far out to make a forecast..

Bitter cold weather to last for awhile after yesterday’s snow!


The snow has ended after dumping around 11 inches in the Clifton area with much lower amounts to our north and west.

Early this morning temperatures are in the single digits with gusty winds dropping the wind chills well below zero.

Today skies will become mostly sunny with slowly diminishing winds, highs will only be in teens and wind chills will remain below zero.  Tonight will be bitterly cold but with lighter winds.

Continued well below normal temperatures through early next week with some flurries on Thursday and possible light snow snow on Saturday with again more snow possible on Monday.  Being in a warm Caribbean island sure would be nice right now.

Super Bowl weather at this time looks quite cold but dry and windy..
