We have mostly cloudy skies at daybreak this morning and it is still quite mild with temperatures in the upper 50s.

Today will become mostly sunny, temperatures will slowly fall through the day into the low 50s by this afternoon, still above normal for this time of year.

The fun begins tomorrow or not so much fun if you are traveling, rain will begin around daybreak and change to snow late in the morning, the snow will continue till around 10pm on Wednesday.  The tricky part of the forecast is the snow accumulations, it is difficult to predict where the heaviest banding will occur also how fast the temperatures do fall, a degree or two makes a whole lot of difference in those accumulations.  I will take a crack at it and say that 6-8 inches will fall in the Clifton area, less to our east and south and up to 8-12 inches across the northwest part of the state before the snow ends at night.

Thanksgiving Day will be dry and chilly with mostly cloudy skies.

Dry weather will continue Friday into early next week, temperatures will be below normal Friday and Saturday rising to above normal levels Sunday and Monday.

Long range for next week looks to be mild with no frigid air or snow in sight.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Mostly sunny and cooler, temperatures falling to the low 50s by this afternoon.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy, low in the upper 30s.

WEDNESDAY – Rain developing around daybreak changing to snow by late morning and ending by 10pm at night, 6-8 inches expected with less to our east and more inland.

THANKSGIVING DAY – Mostly cloudy, high around 40.

FRIDAY – Sunny and cold, high in the upper 30s.

SATURDAY – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.

SUNDAY – Partly sunny and milder, high near 50.

MONDAY – Partly sunny, high in the low 50s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  Small craft advisory in effect today for west winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 6-8 feet.

Gale warning will be in effect for Wednesday.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisory still likely for Thanksgiving Day,  no advisories expected Friday through Saturday.
