Rainy Saturday! Dry and windy Sunday! Nor-easter likely Monday night into Wednesday!


We have cloudy skies at daybreak this morning with some light rain in the area, temperatures range from the upper 30s in the Clifton area to the low 30s across northwest New Jersey, winds are light.

Today we will have periods of rain this morning with more steady rain this afternoon and evening, temperatures will rise to near the 50 degree mark. The rain will end shortly after midnight and it will become windy.

Sunday will be a chilly and windy day but with plenty of sunshine.

A potentially strong coastal storm will affect our area Monday night through Wednesday with heavy precipitation and gusty winds. Precipitation type will be mainly rain but areas north and west may see accumulating snows at the beginning of the storm Monday night and at the end of the storm Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.  Stay tuned for further updates on this potentially  high impact event.

We should have some clearing later on Wednesday but it should be windy with some rain or snow showers.

Dry with chilly but not unseasonably cold temperatures Thursday and Friday.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Rain, high near 50.

TONIGHT – Rain likely till around 1am then partial clearing and becoming windy, low in the low 30s.

SUNDAY – Sunny and windy, high near 40.

MONDAY – Partly sunny, high in the upper 30s, chance of rain and snow at night.

TUESDAY – Rain and windy, high in the mid 40s, rain or snow at night.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow showers, high in the low 40s.

THURSDAY – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.

FRIDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – Southerly winds to 10 knots, seas 3 feet.

Gale warning will be in effect from 10pm tonight till 6am on Monday.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories likely for Monday then gale and possible storm force winds on Tuesday, gales still possible on Wednesday.
