Skies are mostly clear at daybreak this morning and temperatures range from the upper 20s in the Clifton area to the low 20s further inland, winds are from the southwest averaging around 5 mph.

A strong Arctic cold front will be pushing through the area around noon, temperatures will reach near 40 degrees late this morning but after the front it will get much colder with readings falling to the 20s by sunset and the teens by midnight tonight.  Winds will pick up out of northwest with gusts to 30 mph.  Little moisture will accompany the front so the only chance of some snow showers are for areas well inland.

Saturday will be frigid with lows Saturday morning falling to near 10 degrees and highs on Saturday staying in the 20s.

Milder on Sunday but also rain is likely in the afternoon and night that may change to snow before ending late Sunday night.

Dry and seasonably cold weather Monday and Tuesday.

A weak storm will give us a chance of rain or snow on Wednesday.

Dry weather returns for Thursday with near seasonable temperatures.

It is mostly cloudy early this morning, temperatures are about ten degrees milder than this time yesterday with readings ranging for the low 20s in the Clifton area to the upper teens further inland, winds are light.

Today we should see mostly sunny skies, highs will be near normal reaching the mid 30s.

On Friday a cold front will be pushing through around midday, the front will come through dry but northwest winds will pick up, highs will be near normal during the day but become colder by Saturday morning.

Saturday will be a mostly sunny but cold day.

Quite a bit milder on Sunday but rain should move into the area by the afternoon as a coastal low pressure develops, the rain may change to snow before ending Monday morning, inland area may see a couple inches of snow from this system.

Sunshine returns on Tuesday with near normal temperatures.

A weak system may give us some light snow showers on Wednesday.

A more significant storm may affect our area towards the end of next week.

Skies are partly to mostly cloudy over the area at daybreak this morning and it is very cold with temperatures ranging from 12 degrees in Clifton to the single digits further inland, winds are from the northeast around 10 mph.

Today will be mostly cloudy and chilly with a slight chance of a flurry as a weak disturbance passes offshore to our south, extreme Southern New Jersey may pick up about an inch of snow from this system.

Tonight we will continue to have considerable cloudiness and temperatures about ten degrees higher than this morning.

Seasonably cold with dry conditions Thursday through Saturday.

A possible coastal storm may affect our area late Sunday into Monday, Sunday will be milder so if we do have any precipitation it would start off as rain and then when colder air moves in Sunday night the rain could change to snow, at this time it is too early for details and the outcome depends on the intensity and the track of this possible storm.

Colder air is moving into the area on strong northerly winds, skies have become partly cloudy and temperatures have fallen to the upper 20s in the Clifton area to mainly the low 20s further inland, winds are gusting to 25 mph.

Today temperatures will not rise from the present readings and will stay mainly in the 20s despite plenty of sunshine, it will continue to be windy.

It will be quite chilly tonight with lows well down into the teens.

Mostly cloudy and not quite as cold on Wednesday with a small chance of a couple of flurries.

Dry weather will continue Thursday through the weekend, temperatures will be near normal Thursday through Saturday and above normal on Monday before dropping to near normal on MLK Day.

The temperature in the Clifton area at daybreak is 33 degrees with light rain falling, however the surface is still cold so the precipitation is freezing on untreated sidewalks and roads so be careful if you have to go out this morning.  Further inland temperatures are below freezing with a mixture of sleet and freezing rain falling.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until this afternoon as we will have freezing rain in our area until temperatures rise into the upper 30s in the Clifton area, however inland the precipitation will continue to be freezing rain most of the day with some ice accumulation.

Clearing will take place on Tuesday but it will be cold.

After a cold morning on Wednesday temperature will moderate in the afternoon along with mostly sunny skies.

Dry weather will persist the rest of the week into the weekend with temperatures near normal Thursday through Saturday and then above normal on Sunday.
