Cloudy and cool today with a chance of very light rain this afternoon! Dry Friday through the Memorial Day weekend with a warming trend!


Skies are cloudy this Thursday morning and temperatures range from around 50 degrees in the Clifton area to the low 40s further inland, winds are light.

Today will be cloudy as a low pressure moves off the Carolina coast, precipitation with this system may brush the area with some very light rain falling later this afternoon and this evening, amounts will be quite light with only a few hundredths  of an inch falling, slightly more to our south with only trace amounts if any expected to our north.  Temperatures will be quite cool once again with highs just over the 60 degree mark.

Sunshine returns on Friday along with milder temperatures.

The Memorial Day weekend looks to be outstanding for most outdoor activities with the only a chance of showers Monday evening.  Temperatures start off on the cool side on Saturday warming up Sunday and Monday.

Warm conditions should continue into most of next week and we may have our first 90 degree day by Wednesday.

Cool, breezy and dry Wednesday! Dry weather should persist through Sunday!


Skies are clear this early Wednesday morning and temperatures have fallen to the mid 50s in Clifton to some upper 40s further inland, winds are from the northwest around 10 mph.

Today will feature plenty of sunshine with cooler conditions as high pressure builds into the area from the west, high temperatures will be around 70 degrees which is only slightly below normal.

After a chilly Thursday morning with lows in the 40s we should see some increasing cloudiness during the day as a low pressure moves off the Carolina coast, precipitation should stay to our south maybe reaching Southern New Jersey but our area should stay dry.

Sunny skies should prevail Friday through Sunday, temperatures will be near seasonable levels with Saturday being the coolest day.

Warmer on Memorial Day but we will also have a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Next week looks to be rather warm with most highs reaching the 80s.

We have cloudy skies early this Tuesday morning, temperatures are ranging from the upper 50s in Clifton to some lower 50s further inland,  there is some fog around along with scattered light showers, winds are nearly calm.

Today will be warmer and rather humid as a warm front moves through the area, showers will become likely later this morning with only a chance of showers later in the afternoon and in the evening as a cold front then moves through the area.

Cooler and dry weather on Wednesday and we should have a nice stretch of nice weather continuing Thursday through most of the holiday weekend, with only a low chance of showers on Memorial Day.  Temperatures will be at or slightly below normal into Saturday with a warming trend starting Sunday and lasting through most of next week.

We have mostly cloudy skies early this Monday morning and temperatures are mild with readings ranging from the upper 60s in the Clifton area to the low 60s in some colder areas,  winds are light and the humidity is on the high side.

A backdoor cold front will come though the area this morning and temperatures will not rise much from the current readings, ranging from around 70, skies will be mostly cloudy.

The front will move back to our north as a warm front on Tuesday morning followed by a stronger cold front Tuesday evening, showers and possibly some thunderstorms are likely from late tonight through Tuesday evening with warmer temperatures.

A stretch of pleasant spring weather then is likely from Wednesday through Sunday, the days will have plenty of sunshine with seasonably mild temperatures.

Showers may return for Memorial Day.

Skies are mostly cloudy early this morning and it is quite mild with temperatures mainly in the low-mid 60s across the area, most of the overnight shower activity has moved offshore.  In Clifton I recorded .31″ of well needed rain since yesterday.

Today we should stay dry and temperatures will rise to the mid 80s, winds will be quite light and it will remain on the muggy side.

A backdoor cold front will move south of the area tonight and winds will become more onshore so highs on Monday should be more than 15 degrees colder than today’s.

On Tuesday a warm front will move back through the area quickly followed by a stronger cold front, it will be warmer during the day with showers and thunderstorms likely during the day and at night.

Dry with plenty of sunshine and seasonably mild temperatures from Wednesday into at least the beginning of the holiday weekend.

Warmer with some showers likely mainly occurring late this evening into early Sunday morning!


Skies are generally cloudy early this Saturday morning and temperatures are milder than the last couple of mornings, ranging from the upper 50s in the Clifton area to the low 50s further inland, winds are light.  There are some showers and thunderstorms across the Hudson Valley extending to the extreme northwest corner of Sussex County.

A warm front has crossed to our north this morning and we will have a warmer day today despite plenty of cloudiness, temperatures should rise in the low 80s.  There may be a couple of showers this morning but the afternoon should be dry.

The best likelihood of showers and thunderstorms will be from late this evening into early Sunday morning, temperatures tonight will be quite warm only falling into the upper 60s.

Sunday will be warm again but after some early morning showers most of the rest of the day will be dry.

Cooler on Monday as a back door cold front moves to our south and we will have a more flow off the ocean, high temperatures may be around 15 degrees lower than on Sunday.

A stronger cold front will come through on Tuesday along with some showers and thunderstorm activity.

The rest of the week appears to be dry with seasonable temperatures.

Looking ahead to the Memorial holiday weekend it now is indicating slightly above normal temperatures with the best chance of rain is on Sunday, of course that could change.

Today will be another nice spring day with plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures.

A warm front will be crossing the area on Saturday morning possibly accompanied by some showers.  During the day it will mostly cloudy but warm with another chance of some afternoon and evening showers, highs will reach the 80s.

Sunday will be warm with only a slight chance of showers.

A back door cold front will come through the area on Monday with cooler temperatures.

Another stronger front will give us a better chance of showers and thunderstorms from Monday night into Tuesday.

Dry weather returns for Wednesday and Thursday as high pressure builds into the area, temperatures will be seasonably mild.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine and temperatures will rise to near normal reaching the low 70s by this afternoon.

Continued dry on Friday with slightly higher temperatures.

A warm front will be crossing the area on Saturday bringing in warmer and more humid air, there is a chance of showers mostly falling in the morning.

Continued warm and humid on Sunday, there is a chance of a lingering shower early in the morning, otherwise we should stay dry.

A back door cold front will be moving south of us on Sunday night bringing in cooler weather for Monday along with some showers at night.

Continued cool on Tuesday along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms as another cold front crosses the area.

We have clear skies early this Wednesday morning and temperatures have dropped to the middle 50s in the Clifton area to some upper 40s in the colder inland areas, winds are from the northwest gusting at times to 20 mph.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine and it will be noticeably  cooler with much less humidity, winds will gust at times to 25 mph, with these conditions along with having nearly no rain the last three weeks there is an enhanced chance of brush fires so a red flag warning is in effect.

After a chilly Thursday morning it will become milder during the day with less wind than today.

Dry weather will continue during the day on Friday along with slightly warmer temperatures.

The weekend weather is unsettled as more warm and humid conditions can be expected with a chance of showers both days.

Warmer than normal temperatures will continue into the early part of next week with again some showers Monday night into Tuesday as a cold front moves through the area.

Another mild early morning with most temperatures ranging from the mid 60s in the Clifton area to the low 60s further inland, skies are mostly cloudy, humidity is still on the high side and the winds are light.

Yesterday I received .02 inch of rainfall which ended the streak of nearly 19 days of no measurable precipitation which was the longest such period since 2007.

Today we will have mostly cloudy skies this morning giving way to mostly sunny skies this afternoon, it will become breezy, temperatures may hit 90 degrees but with lowering humidity.

A cold front will come through dry this evening and temperatures will fall to the 50s by tomorrow morning.

Wednesday will be much cooler and breezy with highs only in the upper 60s which is only slightly below normal. Skies will be mostly sunny.

A chilly start on Thursday morning with lows in the 40s, temperatures will rise to the low 70s in the afternoon along with continued sunny skies.

Friday will start off dry but there may be some rain at night.

The best chance of rain will be on Saturday as a front moves into the area.

There is a chance of a lingering shower Sunday morning followed by clearing, temperatures will be slightly above normal.

Looking ahead it appears that next week we will continue to have warmer than normal temperatures.
