Mostly cloudy with some showers today! Heat wave begins on Tuesday!


Skies are cloudy early this Monday morning and temperatures are warm ranging from the low 70s here in Clifton to the mid 60s further inland, winds are light.  There is an area of showers and thunderstorms across Southern New Jersey moving offshore.

Today we will have plenty of clouds around along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms as a dying front is in our area, with the clouds temperatures will be lower than they were yesterday.

The heat begins on Tuesday and may last through the weekend, each day may see readings above the 90 degree mark with Wednesday being the hottest day with highs possibly reaching the upper 90s, it will be humid but not oppressive like early last week.   There may be some showers and thunderstorms on Thursday with the passage of a weak cold front otherwise we should stay dry. After the passage of the front we should be less humid Friday through the weekend but still hot.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, some rain may be heavy, high in the mid 80s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a chance of evening showers and thunderstorms, low in the upper 60s.

TUESDAY – Partly sunny and hot, high in the low 90s.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny and very hot, high in the upper 90s.

THURSDAY – Partly sunny in the morning becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, humid with a high in the mid 90s.

FRIDAY – Sunny and hot but less humid, high in the low 90s.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny and hot, high in the low 90s.

SUNDAY – Mostly sunny and hot, high in the low 90s.

 

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY –  Southerly winds to 10 knots, seas 2 feet.   Water temperatures are in the mid 70s.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected through Friday.
