Summerlike warmth today through the holiday weekend!

Skies are clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the upper 50s here in Clifton ranging down to some mid 40s further inland, winds are nearly calm.

Nine days ago I wrote in my blog that the models were indicating a pattern change starting today and lasting through the holiday weekend and amazingly this will turn on to be the case as persistent trough that has dominated the weather most of this month will be replaced by a high pressure ridge in our area.  Today with plenty of sunshine temperatures will take a run at 90 degrees, however the humidity will be on the low side, the last time it reached 90 degrees here was back on September the 9th.

Much above normal warmth should continue through most of the holiday weekend with an increase in humidity by Friday, with the humidity and a couple of fronts to our north may cause some afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms over the weekend but most of the time it will be dry.

A weak backdoor cold front coming through late on Sunday may cause a cooler onshore flow on Memorial Day.
