Excessive heat and humidity to continue through the weekend along with scattered showers and thunderstorms!


Skies are cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures are actually a little cooler than this time yesterday but the humidity remains high, there is some showers that will pass through the area early this morning.

The Bermuda high pressure that has been giving us the high heat and humidity will continue to control our weather through the weekend, high temperatures each day will be in the mid 90s and with dew points in the mid 70s will cause heat indexes to rise to 105-110 degrees, an excessive heat warning is in effect.   We should see a mix of sun and clouds and there is a chance or showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon and evening hours, any storm may be accompanied by very heavy rain that may cause some localized flash flooding.

A front will approach the area Sunday night and be over or slight to our south through next week continuing the chance of showers and thunderstorms, temperatures and humidity levels will be lower than this weekend but still be on the uncomfortable side.

TODAY – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, some storms may contain very heavy rain, very hot and humid with highs in the mid 90s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy and humid with a chance of mainly evening showers and thunderstorms, some storms may contain very heavy rain, low in the upper 70s.

SATURDAY – Partly sunny very hot and humid with a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, some heavy rain possible, high in the mid 90s.

SUNDAY – Partly sunny very hot and humid with a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers with very heavy rain possible, high in the mid 90s.

MONDAY – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high near 90.

TUESDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 80s.

WEDNESDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 80s.

THURSDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:   Small craft advisory issued till 2 a.m. on Saturday for south-southwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 4-5 feet.

OUTLOOK – Advisories possible over the weekend with no advisories expected Monday and Tuesday.
