Mild and dry weather today and on Friday! Cold front to cause a chance of showers Saturday afternoon and evening! Dangerous Hurricane Matthew to strike the eastern Florida coast!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from near 50 in the Clifton area to the low 40s further inland, winds are nearly calm.

High pressure will be in control of our weather today and tomorrow with mostly sunny days and temperatures in the mild 70s.

A cold front will cross the area Saturday night giving us a chance of showers Saturday afternoon and evening, temperatures will continue to be mild on Saturday but turn cooler on Sunday.

High pressure will then build into the area Monday and be with us through Wednesday, temperatures will start off below normal but rise to near normal by Wednesday.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY- Sunny, high in the mid 70s.

TONIGHT – Clear, low in the low 50s.

FRIDAY – Sunny, high in the mid 70s.

SATURDAY – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers mainly after 2 p.m., high in the low 70s.

SUNDAY – Sunny, high in the upper 60s.

COLUMBUS DAY – Sunny, high in the mid 60s.

TUESDAY – Sunny, high in the upper 60s.

MARINE FORECAST:   Small craft advisories in effect till 8 p.m. this evening for high seas, winds northeast to 9 knots, seas 4-6 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories likely Friday through Monday.

TROPICS:   Dangerous hurricane Matthew has intensified just south of Nassau in  the Bahamas with top winds up to 125 mph, Matthew is expected to  intensify further as it moves through the northwestern Bahamas and then toward the Florida’s east coast by tonight, the storm is then expected to parallel the east coast of Florida reaching the South Carolina coast by Saturday night and then move further offshore.  A hurricane of this magnitude has never affected the entire east coast of Florida in recorded history.  It is very difficult to forecast if and where the eye of the storm will be parallel to the coast, a track offshore will lessen the impacts but if the eye moves just inland it will cause major destruction to those areas.

Have a safe day!

Very pleasant fall weather through Friday! Hurricane Matthew now not expected to affect our area!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the low 50s in the Clifton area to the upper 40s further inland, winds are light. This is my last day in Barbados and it is also mostly clear with the temperature around a warm 80 degrees.

High pressure will build into the Clifton area today providing very pleasant fall conditions through Friday with mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures.

Hurricane Matthew is now expected to stay well south of our area so the weekend weather looks to be much better than it was indicated yesterday. A weak trough is expected to only give us a low chance of showers Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning.

High pressure will then build into the area for early next week providing our area with mostly fair conditions with seasonably cool temperatures.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Sunny, high near 70.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

MARINE FORECAST – Small craft advisory is in effect till 8 p.m. on Thursday for northeast winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 4-6 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories likely Friday through Sunday.

TROPICS – Dangerous Hurricane Matthew is expected to reach the Bahamas today and then slowly approach the Florida coast by Friday and move parallel to the coast to South Carolina over the weekend, then the storm will move out in the Atlantic and do a loop offshore possibly moving south and effect the Bahamas again next week.

Have a good day!

Some sunshine this afternoon after possible morning showers! Dry and mild tomorrow through Friday! Possible heavy rain over the weekend from Matthew!

Skies are cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from around 60 in the Clifton area to the low 50s further inland, there are some showers in parts of the region and winds are light easterly.

After some possible early showers we should see partial clearing in the afternoon temperatures should be a little cooler than on Monday.

High pressure then will be in control of our weather Wednesday through Friday with plenty of sunshine each day with mild temperatures.

Our weekend weather will depend on the future track of Hurricane Matthew, most of the computer models have the storm just off our coast which would give our area torrential rain mainly falling from late Saturday into Sunday morning along with gusty winds while the European model has the storm well to our east which would minimize the affect in our area.

After the storm passes we should have clearing skies with cool temperatures early next week.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Cloudy with a chance of a morning shower then partial clearing this afternoon, high in the upper 60s.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy, low around 50.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny, high near 70.

THURSDAY – Sunny, high in the mid 70s.

FRIDAY – Sunny, high in the mid 70s.

SATURDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of rain by the afternoon, high in the low 70s.

SUNDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of rain, high in the mid 60s.

MONDAY – Sunny, high in the low 60s.

MARINE FORECAST –  Small craft advisories will be in effect from 8 a.m. today through 6 p.m. on Wednesday for  northeast winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 5-8 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories likely through Friday, conditions may worsen on Saturday due to the approach of Hurricane Matthew.

TROPICS – Dangerous Hurricane Matthew is now approaching the Haitian coast giving that area devastating rains, Matthew is then expected to cross the tip of eastern Cuba then move into the Bahamas.  The track of the storm will then take it just off the Florida coast and up along the southeast coast to just off the Outer Banks of North Carolina. After that the models are not in agreement on our close it will come to the northeast coast.

Have a good day!

SUNDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high near 70.

MARINE FORECAST – TODAY – Northwest wind to 6 knots, seas 2 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories likely late Tuesday through Friday.

TROPICS – Dangerous Hurricane Matthew is expected to move into the Jamaica, Haiti and Eastern Cuba area and give that area torrential flooding rains along with strong damaging winds, the storm will then reach the Bahamas on Tuesday or Wednesday, after that the track becomes more uncertain as the American model shows the storm moving up the East coast while the European has the hurricane moving well out to sea after brushing the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Have a good day!

Cloudy and cool weather to continue today! Milder tomorrow with finally some sunshine!

Skies are cloudy once again early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from the mid 50s in the Clifton area to the low 50s further inland, winds are from the north.

The low pressure that has been giving us the persistent clouds and light precipitation will weaken today but overcast skies are still be over the area, there is a chance of some drizzle this morning but most of the day will remain dry.

Finally some sunshine on Monday with milder temperatures reaching the 70s, there still is a low chance of some showers.

High pressure will build in from New England on Tuesday and be in control of our weather through the end of the week giving us mainly dry conditions with seasonably mild temperatures although there may be some showers Friday and Saturday.

Have a good day!
