Mild temperatures today through early next week! Rain likely during the day on Saturday! Very pleasant Christmas Day!


Skies are cloudy across the area early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the low 30s in the Clifton area to the mid 20s further inland, some flurries are falling mainly over the Poconos into parts of northwest New Jersey, winds are mainly calm.

Today a weak cold front will cross the area only giving us a very slight chance of a shower, temperatures will rise into the 40s.

Dry and seasonably mild on Friday as high pressure build into the area.

A low pressure disturbance will likely give us some rain on Saturday mainly falling from mid morning into mid afternoon, the rain may start as a mixture of freezing rain, sleet and snow at the beginning.

Christmas Eve night and Christmas Day will be pleasantly dry with above normal temperatures.

There will be a chance of light rain Monday night.

Latest model guidance is showing a return to colder weather at the end of next week.

TODAY – Cloudy early with a slight chance of light then becoming mostly sunny this afternoon, high in the mid 40s.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, low around 30.

FRIDAY – Sunny, high in the upper 40s.

SATURDAY – Rain likely from mid morning till mid afternoon, high in the mid 40s.

CHRISTMAS DAY – Sunny, high in the upper 40s.

MONDAY – Mostly cloudy, high near 50, chance of rain at night.

TUESDAY – Partly sunny, high near 50.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the low 40s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  Small craft advisory in effect till  10 a.m. on Friday for west-northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-5 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Friday afternoon and night, possible small craft conditions on Saturday with no advisories expected Sunday and Monday.
