Skies are cloudy early on the Sunday morning and there is considerable fog, a dense fog advisory is in effect, temperatures are again quite mild ranging from the mid 40s in the Clifton area to the upper 30s further inland, winds are nearly calm.
Today will be a cloudy and mild day and as low pressure develops to our southeast, there will be a chance of rain mainly after 3 p.m. with generally light rain overnight.
On Monday the coastal low will develop just offshore with rain becoming heavy at times by the afternoon, winds will increase to near 50 mph in the Clifton area with higher winds along coastal areas, at least minor coastal flooding is likely. Further inland there will be some sleet or freezing rain during the storm mostly in the higher elevations. Generally 1-3 inches of rain is expected with some higher amounts.
The storm will only slowly move away from the area on Tuesday but showers will likely continue most of the day, winds will be lighter.
Dry weather is expected from Wednesday into next weekend, temperatures will be well above normal Wednesday and Thursday and fall back to near normal winter temperatures from Friday through the weekend.
THE FORECAST:
TODAY – Dense fog this morning then cloudy with a chance or rain mainly after 3 p.m., high near 50.
TONIGHT – Cloudy with a chance of rain, breezy, low in the upper 30s.
MONDAY – Rain mainly after 10 a.m., rain may be heavy at times, very windy with gusts to 50 mph possible, high in the low 40s.
TUESDAY – Rain mainly before 10 a.m, breezy, high in the mid 40s.
WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the low 50s.
THURSDAY – Mostly sunny, high near 50.
FRIDAY – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.
SATURDAY – Partly sunny, high in the upper 30s.
MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – East-northeast wind to 14 knots, seas increasing to 3 feet.
OUTLOOK – Storm warning from 1 a.m. till 10 p.m. on Monday; small craft advisory likely on Tuesday with advisories possible Wednesday afternoon into Thursday.

Hi Allan, hate to be a pain but the name of the day of the week with the date might be nice in case I don’t get to iPad and miss a day. I never know the date but always the week day. Thanks for them report. May be a slow day for me tomorrow if wind and rain begin before 2PM.

That is a great suggestion about putting the date on my forecasts Peter, I will start with this morning’s blog. Looks like the heaviest rain will be after 2 p.m. so it may not be too slow unless your patients don’t like the strong winds.
