TUESDAY FEBRUARY 7, 2017  6:12 A.M.

Skies are overcast early on this Tuesday morning and there are some areas of light rain in the area with some freezing rain well inland, temperatures range from the mid 30s in the Clifton area to the mid 20s in some areas well inland, winds are light.

Today a warm front associated with a low pressure area in the mid-west will cause some light rain today mostly falling this morning, inland areas the precipitation is starting as freezing rain but should change to all rain as warmer air moves into the region, temperatures will rise to the 40s later today.

A cold front will cross the area tomorrow morning but with some sunshine record high tempertures in the 60s are possible, there is slight chance of some showers.

A low pressure storm is expected to form offshore late tomorrow night and cause rain changing to snow, the snow will end in the early afternoon on Thursday but not before dumping around 4-6 inches.

Cold and dry on Friday.

The weekend should be milder but there is a chance of light snow Saturday morning and possible rain showers on Sunday.

TODAY – FEB 7 – Cloudy with light rain, high in the upper 40s.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with a chance of rain, low in the mid 40s.

WEDNESDAY – FEB 8 – Mostly cloudy and very mild with a slight chance of a shower, high near 60.  Rain changing to snow at night.

THURSDAY – FEB 9 – Snow, mainly in the morning, much colder, with highs only in the mid 30s.

FRIDAY – FEB 10 – Mostly sunny and cold, high in the low 30s.

SATURDAY – FEB 11 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of light snow in the morning, high in the mid 40s.

SUNDAY – FEB 12 – Cloudy with a chance of light rain, high in the mid 40s.

MONDAY – FEB 13 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  Small craft advisory will be in effect from noon today through 6 p.m. on Wednesday for south-southwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – Advisories likely Thursday through Friday with no advisories expected on Saturday.
