Mild and dry today! Much colder and windy on Wednesday! Some record lows possible Thursday morning!


TUESDAY  MARCH 21, 2017  5:55 A.M.

We have cloudy conditions early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are milder than the last several mornings with readings ranging from the low 40s in the Clifton area to the mid 30s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

A weak cold front will cause overcast conditions early this morning but we should see sunshine by noontime, temperatures will rise well up into the 50s.

A stronger cold front will come through dry late tonight followed by a strong Arctic high pressure moving into the area on Wednesday, temperatures will fall to around freezing early in the morning and not rise much during the day and along with wind gusts to 35 mph will drop windchills well down into the teens.

Winds diminish late Wednesday night and with clear skies early Thursday morning will cause temperatures to drop to the teens with some record lows possible.  Not as cold or windy during the day on Thursday along with mostly sunny skies.

A warm front will approach the area on Friday and temperatures will rise to near normal.

Quite mild on Saturday ahead of a backdoor cold front that will move south of us at night accompanied by some showers.

Unsettled weather Sunday and Monday with rain likely both days, temperatures will be cooler.

TODAY – MAR 21 – Cloudy this morning then becoming mostly sunny, high in the upper 50s.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy, low around 30.

WEDNESDAY – MAR 22 – Sunny and windy, highs only in the mid 30s, wind gusts to 35 mph.

THURSDAY – MAR 23 – Sunny, high in the low 40s.

FRIDAY – MAR 24 – Partly sunny, high near 50.

SATURDAY – MAR 25 – Mostly cloudy and mild with a chance of showers, high in the low 60s.

SUNDAY – MAR 26 – Mostly cloudy and cooler with a chance of rain, high in the upper 40s.

MONDAY – MAR 27- Cloudy with rain likely, high in the upper 40s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – West-northwest wind to 9 knots, seas 2 feet.

OUTLOOK – Gale warning will be in effect from 6 a.m till 11 p.m. on Wednesday; no advisories expected on Thursday; possible small craft conditions on Friday; below advisory conditions on Saturday.
