Quite warm and humid today through Thursday with showers and thunderstorms possible each day!


TUESDAY  JULY 11, 2017  5:59 A.M.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and there are some showers moving through Rockland County in New York, temperatures ranging from the low 70s in the Clifton area down to the mid 60s further inland.  Unlike the last few mornings it is quite muggy with dew points near 70, winds are mainly calm.

Today we will have a mix of clouds and sunshine  & it will be quite warm and humid, there is a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorm. Some of these storms could be quite strong this afternoon and evening.

Tomorrow will be warm and humid again with still a chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm.

Thursday could turn out to be very hot and humid along with possible strong thunderstorms as a cold front approaches the area.

Cooler on Friday with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms especially in the morning.

The weekend weather still looks mainly dry with seasonable temperatures and humidity.

Looking at the longer range, indications are for very hot weather July 20-22.

Skies are clear early on this Monday morning, temperatures range from the upper 60s in the Clifton area down to the chilly low 50s in some area further inland, winds are mainly calm and the humidity continues to be low.

Today we will enjoy another nice summer day with plenty of sunshine, high temperatures may be a couple of degrees higher than on Sunday and humidity levels will increase late in the day.

Hot and more humid on Tuesday with a good chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, some storms may be strong to severe as a front approaches the area.

Unsettled weather Wednesday through Friday as a front will be stationary near our area causing the chance of showers each day.  Wednesday and Thursday will be quite warm but it should be cooler on Friday.

At this point it looks like another nice weekend coming up with seasonably warm air, lower humidity and plenty of sunshine both days.

Today we will enjoy very nice summer weather as high pressure builds into the area, we will have plenty of sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures,  the humidity will be unseasonably low with dew points only in the low 50s.

Monday will also be a rather nice day with again with warm temperatures and only a slight increase in humidity.

It should be quite warm to hot on Tuesday with higher humidity and as a front approaches the area there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Unsettled weather from Wednesday through Friday as a front will just be to our south, the best chance of showers will be from Wednesday night into Thursday, temperatures will be seasonably warm.

Monday will also be a nice day with plenty of sunshine, temperatures will be a couple of degrees higher than on Sunday with gradual increasing humidity.

A cold front should cross the area on Tuesday giving us a chance of showers.

An area of heavy rain will move through the area this morning dropping an average of an inch of rainfall, some sunshine and warm temperatures are likely this afternoon.  There is a low chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight.

Saturday will be quite warm  temperatures will approach the 90 degree mark and it will be rather humid in the morning but become less humid in the afternoon

Sunday will be slightly cooler with low humidity as high pressure builds into the area.

Monday should be dry with seasonably warm temperatures.  A cold front will cross the area on Tuesday giving us a chance of showers.

At this point Wednesday and Thursday look to be dry with seasonably warm temperatures.

Today will be a mostly cloudy and cool day with a chance of showers later this afternoon as high pressure moves off the New England coast.

A low pressure system will give us rain heavy at times tonight into Friday morning, 1-2 inches of rain is possible.   There will be some partial clearing in the afternoon but there still will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms into the evening, temperature and humidity will be higher.

Saturday will be partly sunny as high pressure builds into the area, temperatures will be quite warm but humidity levels will decrease during the afternoon.

Sunday will be a quite pleasant with seasonably warm temperatures, low humidity and plenty of sunshine.

Seasonably warm temperature through the middle of next week with a low chance of showers each day as a couple of weak fronts move through the area.

WEDNESDAY  JULY 5, 2017  5:40 A.M.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the upper 60s in the Clifton area down to some upper 50s in some spots further inland, winds are light and the humidity is low.

Today we will have another day of pleasant early July weather as high pressure over the northeast states dominates, we should enjoy seasonably warm temperatures along with continued low humidity and plenty of sunshine.

A frontal system approaching from the west will cause an increase in clouds on Thursday with a chance of showers mainly late in the day and evening, with the clouds and a light onshore wind high temperatures will be only in the 70s.

The frontal system will likely cause more showers and thunderstorms mainly on Friday morning, temperatures will be a little higher than on Thursday along with higher humidity.

A cold front will come through dry Friday night followed by high pressure which will set the stage for a nice weekend with seasonably warm tempertures and comfortable humidity levels.

The nice early summer weather will continue into early next week.   No heat waves are expected at least for the next two weeks.

Today will feature plenty of sunshine with seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity as high pressure builds into the area from eastern Canada.  Tonight will be a nice night for watching any fireworks in the area as we will have clear skies and comfortable temperatures.

Another nice early July weather on Wednesday with continued mostly sunny conditions with seasonably warm temperatures and still comfortable humidity.

More cloudiness is expected on Thursday with cool temperatures, most of the day should be dry but a frontal system may give us showers at night.

The best chance of showers and thunderstorms will be on Friday as the frontal system will be in our area.

At this point the upcoming weekend weather looks quite nice with seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

Today we should see plenty of sunshine along with slightly lower humidity as dew points drop from the oppresive 70s down to a more tollerable 60s today.

Monday will be hot again with moderate humidity and as a weak cold front comes through we will have a low chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm.

Fantastic weather for the 4th of July with seasonably warm tempertures and low humidity, this nice weather should extend into Wednesday.

A front may give us some showers on Thursday followed by mainly dry and seasonably warm temperatures Friday into next weekend.

JUNE 2017  CLIMATE SUMMARY:

June averaged around 1 degree above normal.  The highest temperature 97 degrees on the 13th and the lowest was a chilly 50 degrees on the 7th.   Precipitation was slightly below normal in the Clifton area with 3.04 inches falling although many parts of Northern New Jersey received more rainfall.
