TUESDAY  AUGUST 22, 2017  5:49 A.M.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and it is warm and muggy, temperatures ranging from the low 70s in the Clifton area to the mid 60s further inland, winds are light.

Today will be quite hot and humid as high pressure moves off the coast and a cold front approaches from the west.  We should have partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures will soar into the 90s and with dew points in the 70s will push heat indexes to over 100 degrees. A heat advisory is in effect for the region.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely from tonight into early Wednesday morning as the cold front swings through the area.  By Wednesday afternoon we should have mostly sunny skies but noticeably less humid as dew points drop to the 50s.

Fantastic weather from Thursday through the weekend as a strong high pressure builds from the upper midwest.  Temperatures will be below normal and the humidity will be quite low, each day will be dry with plenty of sunshine.

Looking further ahead, there is no signs of any heat for at least the next two weeks so it is possible that today may be the last 90 degree day of the summer.
