Showers ending around noon, clearing tonight! Seasonably warm and dry conditions for Labor Day!


SUNDAY. SEPTEMBER 3, 2017. 7:55 A.M.

Our area has cloudy skies this Sunday morning and there is some light rain falling in parts of the area, temperatures are not as cool as yesterday morning with readings ranging from the upper 50s in the Clifton area down to the low 50s further inland, winds are light from the northeast.

Low pressure is moving off the southern New Jersey coast, rain from this system will continue till around noon with some clearing by early this evening, temperatures will be a few degrees milder than yesterday.

Finally some nice summer like weather for Labor Day, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures reaching the low 80s.

Warm weather continues for Tuesday, it should remain mostly sunny but some showers possible at night as a slow moving cold front approaches the area.

Showers are likely Wednesday and Thursday as the front slowly crosses the area, temperatures will be cooler.

Dry weather for Friday and Saturday with slightly below normal temperatures.

TODAY – SEP 3 – Cloudy with light rain mainly before noon, high in the low 70s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy becoming mostly clear, low in the upper 50s.

LABOR DAY  SEP 4 – Sunny, high in the low 80s.

TUESDAY. SEP 5 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s, chance of showers at night.

WEDNESDAY. SEP 6 – Mostly cloudy with showers likely, high in upper 70s.

THURSDAY. SEP 7- Cloudy with showers likely, high in the low 70s.

FRIDAY. SEP 8 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 70s.

SATURDAY. SEP 9 – Sunny, high in the low 70s.

 

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – East to southeast wind to 14 knots, seas 3-4 feet.  Belmar’s ocean temperature is 74 degrees.

OUTLOOK – Possible small craft conditions Monday through Wednesday.

 

TROPICS:  Hurricane Irma is moving westward from the middle of the Atlantic ocean with top winds of 115 mph, the storm is expected to intensify and most models are indicating that the storm will hit somewhere along the United States east coast around September 11th.
