Showers ending this morning but becoming very windy and cooler! Mainly dry weather most of this week with near seasonable temperatures!


SUNDAY  NOVEMBER 19, 2017  5:55 A.M.

Skies are cloudy and there are some scattered showers in the area, temperatures have rising to quite mild levels with readings ranging from the upper 50s in the Clifton area down to the low 50s further inland, winds are gusty out of the southwest.

A strong low pressure is now located over western New York with a cold front extending down from the low into central Pennsylvania, a strong southwest flow of mild air.  The front should swing through the area near daybreak with showers ending.  The front will be followed by a very strong northwest wind, temperatures in the 50s this morning will drop to the 40s by sunset.  Winds will diminish tonight.

Monday will be a cool day with sunshine, it will still be breezy but not as windy as today.

Milder on Tuesday with mostly sunny skies.

A weak cold front may touch off a shower Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

Cool and dry weather is expected for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

TODAY – NOV 19 – Wind advisory in effect till 6 p.m. this evening!  Mostly cloudy this morning with showers ending, then becoming mostly sunny, very windy with gusts to 50 mph possible, temperatures in the 50s this morning will fall to the 40s by sunset.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy with diminishing winds, low in the low 30s.

MONDAY – NOV 20 – Mostly sunny and breezy, high in the upper 40s.

TUESDAY – NOV 21 – Mostly sunny and mild, high in the upper 50s.

WEDNESDAY – NOV 22 – Partly sunny, chance of a morning shower, high near 50.

THANKSGIVING DAY – NOV 23 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

FRIDAY – NOV 24 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 40s.

SATURDAY – NOV 25 – Partly sunny in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the afternoon, high near 50.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  A gale warning is in effect until 5 a.m. Monday morning.  Today – Southwest wind becoming northwest gusting to 45 knots, seas 7-10 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft conditions during the day on Monday; no advisories expected for Monday night; small craft advisories again likely on Tuesday.

    And an 8 minute snow flurry 10:45 PM or what would you call pure white precipitation like vermiculite ? Anyway cars are white and roof covered in white.

      Thanks for the report Peter, I didn’t see any but went to sleep early, was looking at the weather forums and some people had snow up in northwest Jersey and also in Brooklyn, now I know there was some here local too, the first snow of the season!
