Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this 4th of July and it is again warm and very muggy with temperatures ranging from the mid 70s in the Clifton area down to around 70 further inland, winds are calm and the humidity is very high.

Today we will have mostly cloudy skies and it will continue to be very humid with dew points remaining in the oppressive 70s.   Temperatures with the clouds and a light onshore wind will be about five degrees lower than yesterday.  There is a low chance of  an afternoon shower or thunderstorm mainly inland.  Any showers should end by this evening so fireworks viewing will not be affected.

Thursday it will stay very humid with warm temperatures but we should stay dry.

A front will cause showers and thunderstorms on Friday with heavy rain likely.

High pressure building in from the northwest will give our area a very nice weekend with pleasant temperatures and much less humidity.

Dry weather will continue into early next week with seasonably warm temperatures and only moderate humidity levels.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy and muggy, low in the low 70s.

THURSDAY – JUL 5 – Partly sunny and humid, high near 90.

FRIDAY – JUL 6 – Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely, rain may be heavy at times, high in the mid 80s.

SATURDAY – JUL 7 – Sunny, cooler and much less humid, high near 80.

SUNDAY – JUL 8 – Sunny, high in the low 80s.

MONDAY – JUL 9 – Sunny, high in the upper 80s.

TUESDAY – JUL 10 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – East-southeast wind to 7 knots, seas 1-2 feet.  Belmar’s ocean temperature has risen to 74 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected on Thursday; possible small craft advisories for high seas Friday through the weekend.
