Good morning everyone!
Skies are mostly clear early this morning and temperatures range from the low 70s in the Clifton area down to the upper 60s in some spot further inland. Humidity remains high with dew points still in oppressive low 70s, winds are mainly calm. Yesterday I recorded .92 inches of rain in a heavy thunderstorm between 6-7 p.m.
High pressure will be moving off the coast today as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Another hot and humid day with temperatures approaching the low 90s and with dew points still in the 70s will again cause heat indexes to be near 100 degrees. Thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and evening with some heavy downpours and strong gusty winds possible.
The front crosses the area tomorrow morning and although it will be quite warm the humidity will drop by the afternoon as dew points fall into the low to mid 60s. Friday will be a nice day with warm temperatures and rather comfortable humidity.
Unsettled weather returns for the weekend into early next week as a front will be in the area. There will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms each day mainly in the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will be warm but not hot as there will be considerable cloudiness. Humidity levels will rise once again with dew points near 70.

SATURDAY – AUG 11 – Partly sunny in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, more humid, high in the mid 80s.
SUNDAY – AUG 12 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, humid, high in the low 80s.
MONDAY – AUG 13 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, humid, high in the low 80s.
TUESDAY – AUG 14 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.
