Mostly cloudy and cooler with a chance of showers today! Mostly cloudy but dry on Saturday! Warmer and more humid Sunday and on Labor Day!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy early on this Friday morning and conditions are not as sultry as the last few mornings with temperatures ranging from the low 70s in Clifton to the low 60s further inland, still these readings are well above normal.   Humidity is moderate with dew points in the mid 60s.  Winds are light easterly.

Today we will have considerable amounts of clouds and there is a chance of showers mainly this afternoon, with the clouds and an onshore flow temperatures will not rise much, remaining mostly in the upper 70s.

Still a lot of clouds around for Saturday but we should stay mainly dry, temperatures will be a couple of degrees higher than today.

Warmer on Sunday and there is a chance of mainly an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm, the humidity will rise with dew points reaching to near 70 by late in the day.

Very warm to hot and humid on Labor Day through most of next week as the Bermuda high pressure will again extend to our area.  Daytime highs through this period will again reach to near 90 and with dew points in the low 70s will make this coming week feel like the middle of summer instead of the first week of September.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers mainly before 9 p.m. low in the mid 60s.

SATURDAY – SEP 1 – Mostly cloudy, high near 80.

SUNDAY – SEP 2 – Partly sunny and becoming more humid with a chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm, high in the low 80s.

LABOR DAY – SEP 3 – Partly sunny and humid with a chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm, high near 90.

TUESDAY – SEP 4 – Mostly sunny, hot and humid, high in the low 90s.

WEDNESDAY – SEP 5 – Partly sunny, hot and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the low 90s.

THURSDAY – SEP 6 – Partly sunny and humid, high near 90.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 am. Saturday morning for easterly winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-5 feet.  Belmar’s ocean temperature is 75 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected from Saturday through Tuesday.
