Hot and humid weather returns today which should continue through Thursday!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy early on this Labor Day morning and it is warm and muggy, temperatures range from the mid 70s in Clifton down to 70 further inland, few points are in the oppressive low to mid 70s.

A return to heat and humidity today as the Bermuda high pressure ridge builds back to our area. After early morning cloudiness it will become mostly sunny and temperatures will rise to above 90 and with dew points in the 70s will help push heat indexes to near 100, a heat advisory is in effect.

Tomorrow may even be hotter but a bit less humid in the afternoon, a heat advisory will continue to be in effect.

On Wednesday a weak backdoor cold front may temper the heat a bit especially across coastal areas.

Thursday will still be hot and humid but a cold front approaching the area may touch off showers and thunderstorms at night.

Unsettled weather Friday through the weekend with cooler temperatures and a chance of showers each day as the front will be over or just to our south.

Thursday – Sep 6 – Mostly sunny, hot and humid, high in the low 90s. Chance of showers and thunderstorms at night.

Friday – Sep 7 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, cooler, high near 80.

Saturday – Sep 8 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the mid 70s.

Sunday – Sep 9 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the mid 70s.

 

Marine Forecast – Today – Southerly winds to 11 knots, seas 2 feet.  Belmar’s ocean temperature is 74 degrees.

Outlook – No advisories is expected Tuesday through Friday.
