Showers and mild today! Heavy rain likely tonight! Clearing, cooler and very windy on Saturday! Seasonably cool and dry on Sunday!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are cloudy early on this Friday morning and there are some scattered showers falling over parts of the area.  Temperatures are more like summer with readings ranging from the upper 60s in Clifton down to the low 60s further inland, however across the Hudson Valley temperatures are in the low 50s as that area is north of a stationary front, winds are light southerly.

A slow moving cold front will be approaching the area today with quite mild and humid conditions ahead of it.  Scattered off and on showers are likely during the day today with highs near 70.  Heavy rain is likely tonight along with a chance of thunderstorms, rainfall amounts will average 1-2 inches, locally higher in some areas.

The rain will taper off to showers and end tomorrow morning and followed by a very strong westerly flow of much drier air, temperatures will not rise much of the overnight readings and fall late in the day.  A high wind watch is in effect as westerly gusts may approach 50 mph in the afternoon, these type of winds may bring down some trees and power lines.

Much calmer conditions on Sunday with seasonably cool temperatures.
