Good morning everyone!

Skies have become cloudy early on this Thursday morning and it is quite chilly with readings ranging from the upper 20s in Clifton down to the low 20s further inland, winds are from the north-northeast around 10 mph.

Low pressure along the Georgia coast will intensify as it moves up the coast to our area by Friday morning, snow and sleet will develop mainly after 1 p.m. and continue into this evening before changing to rain around midnight as somewhat warmer air moves into the area.   Total snow and sleet accumulations should be around 2-5 inches in the Clifton area with higher amounts to our north and west where some freezing rain will also fall through most of the evening.  Winds will pick up and gust to above 40 mph at times.  This evening’s commute may be quite hazardous so please be safe.

The low pressure will move north of the area on Friday with the rain ending around 8 a.m. followed by clearing, windy and chilly conditions.

The weekend should be dry with below normal temperatures.

A weak disturbance will give us a low chance of light rain and snow Sunday night into Monday followed by dry weather but chilly weather Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – NOV 15 – Cloudy with snow and sleet developing mainly after 1 p.m., becoming windy, high only in the low 30s.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with snow and sleet changing to rain around midnight, quite windy with gusts to 45 mph possible, temperatures rising to the upper 30s after midnight.  Total snow and sleet accumulations of 2-5 inches.

FRIDAY – NOV 16 – Rain likely before 8 a.m then becoming mostly sunny and windy, high in the mid 40s.

SATURDAY – NOV 17 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 40s.

SUNDAY – NOV 18 – Partly sunny, high in the mid 40s, chance of light rain or snow at night.

MONDAY – NOV 19 – Cloudy with a chance of rain or snow before 9 a.m, then becoming partly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

TUESDAY – NOV 20 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 40s.

WEDNESDAY – NOV 21 – Partly sunny, high near 40.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  A gale warning has been posted effective between 1 p.m. this afternoon through 6 p.m. Friday evening.  TODAY – East-northeast winds gusting to 45 knots, seas building to 10-15 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft conditions continuing Friday night;  no advisories expected Saturday through Monday.
