Another chilly early morning on this Friday with temperatures ranging from the low 50s in Clifton down to some mid 30s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

High pressure will drop to our south today and we will have a return flow of warmer air today along with plenty of sunshine!

Dry weather with unseasonably warm temperatures over the weekend with high pressure dominating. High temperatures will be more like the middle of summer with highs well up into the 80s.

Warm again on Monday but a cold front will give us a chance of showers Monday night.

Fair weather returns Tuesday through Thursday, near normal temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday with above normal temperatures again on Thursday.

TROPICS:

Hurricane Jerry is located about 290 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands with top winds of 105 mph. Jerry is expected to move northwest into the open Atlantic possibly affecting Bermuda in a few days.

The remains of Tropical Storm Imelda dropped over three feet of rain across parts of coastal southeast Texas over the last three days.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures are chilly with readings ranging from around 50 in Clifton down to 35 degrees at Walpack, winds are calm or light northerly.

High pressure that was north of us will continue to build into our area and will give us mostly sunny day, high temperatures will be a couple of degrees higher than yesterday along with less wind.

The high will drift to our south and we will have a return flow of warmer air on Friday, skies will continue to be mostly sunny.

Unseasonably warm for the last weekend of summer with highs well up into the 80s both days, the humidity will rise somewhat with dew points in the low 60s.

Monday will be warm again but a weak cold front may cause some showers at night.

TROPICS:

Hurricane Humberto with top winds of 125 mph is located about 250 miles northeast of Bermuda, Humberto caused hurricane conditions over Bermuda yesterday and now will be moving into the open Atlantic.

Tropical storm Jerry with top winds of 70 mph is located 575 miles east of the Leeward Islands and is expected to become a hurricane today, the track of Jerry has the storm moving north of the Leeward Islands and then move into the open Atlantic possibly affecting Bermuda next week.

High pressure building down from eastern Canada will give us a mostly sunny day today and on Thursday with cool temperatures and low humidity, tonight with clear skies and light winds most places will drop into the 40s.

The high pressure will then settle to our south and a return flow of warmer air will develop over our area on Friday and continue into early next week, no rain is expected.

NOTE: 20 years ago today Hurricane Floyd caused massive flooding as more than 11 inches of rain fell in our area.

A weak front will move to our south today causing mostly cloudy to cloudy skies and a low risk of some scattered light showers, temperatures with the cloud cover will be a few degrees lower than on Sunday.

High pressure will then build into our area from New England giving our area an onshore flow of cool air Tuesday through Thursday with dry conditions.

Continued dry Friday through the weekend but it will become warmer as the high moves to our south and a southwest flow develops.
