Skies across the area are mostly clear and temperatures range from near 30 in Clifton down to 20 further inland, winds are from the northwest.

High pressure building from the midwest will give us a mostly sunny and cold day, winds will be a little gusty early this morning but will diminish by late morning.

The high pressure will be over the area Sunday morning then move off the coast. After a cold morning temperatures will moderate in the afternoon, skies will continue to be mostly sunny.

A slow moving frontal system will be moving into the area on Monday and affect our weather through Wednesday morning. Temperatures will be mild Monday and Tuesday with showers, the rain may be heavy at times. The front is expected to move to our east Tuesday night with colder air moving in so the precipitation may change to snow before ending early Wednesday morning.

Dry and cold weather is then expected Wednesday afternoon through Friday.

TODAY – DEC 7 – Sunny, high in the upper 30s.

TONIGHT – Clear and cold, low around 20.

SUNDAY – DEC 8 – Sunny, high in the low 40s.

MONDAY – DEC 9 – Cloudy with showers and possibly some thunderstorms, milder with highs in the mid 50s.

TUESDAY – DEC 10 – Cloudy with showers, high near 60. Rain at night changing to snow after midnight.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 11 – Chance of snow mainly before 7 a.m. then clearing and colder, high in the upper 30s.

THURSDAY – DEC 12 – Mostly sunny and cold, high in the low 30s.

FRIDAY – DEC 13 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Northwest wind to 11 knots, seas 1-2 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected on Sunday; small craft advisories likely Monday through Wednesday.
