Skies are partly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the upper 20s in Clifton down to the low 20s further inland, winds are mainly calm. There may be spots of black ice on some of the untreated roads and sidewalks.

Today we will see some sunshine but a polar cold front will cross the area this afternoon possibly giving the area a brief snow shower or squall that may give us a quick dusting of snow. The front will be followed by a strong northwest flow of much colder air for tonight into Thursday. Temperatures will fall well down into the teens with wind chills below zero by early tomorrow morning. High temperatures on Thursday will only be in the 20s, the winds will diminish by late in the day.

A long stretch of dry weather is expected Friday through at least through early next week with a slow warming trend.

OUTLOOK – A gale warning has been posted effective between 6 p.m. this evening until 6 a.m Thursday morning; small craft advisories likely through Thursday evening; no advisories expected Thursday night through Sunday.
