Skies are mostly fair early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the upper 30s in Clifton down to around 30 further inland, winds are from the northwest.

Today will start off sunny but we should see an increase in clouds as a strong ocean storm moves westward, winds will pick up and gust at times over 30 mph, high temperatures will be similar to yesterday but with the wind it will feel cooler.

The ocean storm will cause clouds in our area on Friday with a chance of some light rain in the morning especially over coastal areas.

The storm will move further offshore on Saturday as high pressure builds into our area, we will have dry conditions with some sunshine both Saturday and Sunday with seasonably mild temperatures.

Mild Monday through Wednesday with a chance of showers on Wednesday as a weak front crosses our area.

TODAY – APR 2 – Increasing cloudiness and windy, high in the upper 50s.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with a chance of light rain mainly after 3 a.m., low in the low 40s.

FRIDAY – APR 3 – Cloudy with a chance of light rain mainly in the morning, high in the mid 50s.

SATURDAY – APR 4 – Partly sunny, high in the upper 50s.

SUNDAY – APR 5 – Partly sunny, high near 60.

MONDAY – APR 6 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 60s.

TUESDAY – APR 7 – Partly sunny, high in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY – APR 8 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high near 60.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Friday evening for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – Advisories expected to continue Friday night through Sunday night; no advisories expected for Monday.

Cliftons average temperature was 6.2 degrees above normal making this the 4th warmest March since 1973 Highest temperature 77 – 20th Lowest temperature 22 – 1st: Precipitation totaled 4.07″ which was slightly below normal: Snowfall was only 0.1″ Note: The first three months of 2020 was the 2nd warmest start of the year for Clifton, Central Part and Newark Airport. Central Park’s record started in 1869 while Newark records started in 1931 and Clifton’s record started in 1973, only 2012 had the warmest first 3 months of the year.
