Good morning!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Sunday morning and it is unseasonably cool again with temperatures ranging from the mid 30s in Clifton down to the low 30s further inland, winds are light out of the southwest.

Note: In Central Park yesterday the temperature dropped to a record 34 degrees which was the coldest so late in the season and also the coldest May temperature since 1891.

After yesterday’s record cold and snow showers today will be milder, but it will still be below normal as high pressure builds toward the area. Skies will start off mostly sunny but we should see an increase in clouds this afternoon.

A weak cold front will give our area a chance of showers on Monday, temperatures will be slightly cooler than today.

Dry weather Tuesday through Thursday but with cool conditions continuing. There may be some frost early Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Finally some warmer air will move into our area on Friday and continue into the weekend although there may be some scattered showers.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers after 2 a.m., low in the upper 40s.

MONDAY – MAY 11 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm, high in the low 60s.

TUESDAY – MAY 12 – Sunny, high in the upper 50s.

WEDNESDAY – MAY 13 – Sunny, high in the low 60s.

THURSDAY – MAY 14 – Partly sunny, high in the mid 60s.

FRIDAY – MAY 15 – Mostly cloudy and warmer with a chance of showers, high in the upper 70s.

SATURDAY – MAY 16 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high in the low 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m this evening for southwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 1-2 feet.

OUTLOOK – Advisories expected Monday into Tuesday with some gale gusts possible; no advisories expected Tuesday night through Wednesday night; possible small craft conditions on Thursday.
