Sunny and cooler today with diminishing winds! Sunny on Sunday and become windy again in the afternoon! Colder early next week with a low chance of light rain on Tuesday!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Saturday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 32 in Clifton down to 23 at High Point. Winds are gusty out of the northwest but are diminishing from the strong gusts early this morning.

High pressure building into the area will give us sunny skies, winds will be a little gusty this morning but diminish somewhat by this afternoon. Temperatures will be cooler than the last couple of days with highs near 50.

Sunday will be sunny but another strong cold front will cross the area in the afternoon with winds again becoming strong with gusts to 40 mph possible.

Much cooler on Monday along with sunny skies and diminishing winds, lows Monday morning will be well down into the 20s and rise to just around 40 during the day.

A weak low pressure area may give our area some light rain on Tuesday that may briefly start as a mix of snow. Rainfall amounts will be less than a tenth of an inch.

Wednesday will be a dry day with moderating temperatures.

A stronger low pressure moving into the area Thursday into Friday may give us some well needed significant rainfall.

TODAY – MAR 13 – Sunny and cooler with diminishing winds, high near 50.

TONIGHT – Clear, low in the low 30s.

SUNDAY – MAR 14 – Sunny and becoming windy, high in the low 50s, wind gusts to 40 mph possible.

MONDAY – MAR 15 – Sunny, high near 40.

TUESDAY – MAR 16 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of light rain possibly mixed with light snow in the morning, high in the low 40s.

WEDNESDAY – MAR 17 – Partly sunny and milder, high in the low 50s.

THURSDAY – MAR 18 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain by the afternoon, high in the mid 50s.

FRIDAY – MAR 19 – A chance of rain in the morning then becoming partly sunny in the afternoon, cooler, high in the mid 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Northwest winds gusting to 25 mph this morning diminishing this afternoon, seas 2-3 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected during the day on Sunday; advisories expected Sunday night with some gale gusts possible; advisories possible Monday morning; no advisories expected Monday night through Wednesday.
