More heat today followed by strong thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight. Not as hot and becoming less humid on Sunday with only a chance of showers! Seasonably warm most of next week with a chance of afternoon and evening showers Monday, Wednesday and again on Friday!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Saturday morning and temperatures are again quite warm with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 74 in Clifton down to 68 at Walpack. Winds are mainly calm and the humidity continues on the high side.

Today will be an active day with a heat advisory in effect likely followed by some strong thunderstorms that may cause flooding along with strong gusty winds, highs today will be near 90. A flash flood watch is in effect for late this afternoon and at night with 1-2 inches of rain likely with higher amounts possible.

The forecast for Sunday is a little more optimistic as the slow moving cold front moves to our east. Temperatures and humidity will lower and there is only a chance of some light showers in the afternoon and evening.

Seasonably warm weather most of next week with the best chance of afternoon or evening showers will be on Monday and again on Wednesday as a front moves through our area. Some showers again possible on Friday.

TODAY – JULY 17 – Partly sunny, hot and humid with showers and thunderstorms becoming likely mainly after 2 p.m., some storms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 90. A heat advisory and a flash flood watch will in effect.

TONIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms, some storms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and heavy rain, humid, low in the low 70s.

SUNDAY – JULY 18 – Becoming partly sunny and gradually becoming less humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

MONDAY – JULY 19 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of afternoon or evening showers or thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

TUESDAY – JULY 20 – Mostly sunny and hot, high near 90.

WEDNESDAY – JULY 21 – Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 80s.

THURSDAY – JUL 22 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

FRIDAY – JULY 23 – Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 80s.
