Mostly cloudy today with a chance of some light showers mainly this evening! Sunny and warm weather for Labor Day! Continued pleasant weather on Tuesday followed by a chance of showers on Wednesday!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are not as cool as the last couple of mornings with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 63 in Clifton down to 55 at Pequest. Winds are calm or light southwesterly.

Today will be a mostly cloudy day and it should not be as warm as yesterday but become more humid. There will be a chance of some light showers mainly this evening as a weak cold front approaches our area. The Passaic River is still at a moderate flood range but will be slowly falling the next couple of days.

Labor day looks to be a fine late summer day with plenty of sunshine, seasonably warm temperatures and the humidity will be dropping by the afternoon.

Tuesday looks to be a sunny with continued warm temperatures.

A stronger cold front will give our area a chance of showers on Wednesday, temperatures will continue to be warm with an increase in humidity.

At this point dry weather with comfortable temperatures and humidity is expected Thursday through next weekend.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a chance of a shower, low in the mid 60s.

LABOR DAY – SEP 6 – Becoming mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.

TUESDAY – SEP 7 – Sunny, high in the low 80s.

WEDNESDAY – SEP 8 – Partly sunny and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

THURSDAY – SEP 9 – Partly sunny and less humid, high near 80.

FRIDAY – SEP 10 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

SATURDAY – SEP 11 – Sunny, high in the low 80s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Southerly winds to 15 knots, seas 2 feet lower to 1 foot by this evening. Point Pleasant Beach’s ocean temperature has dropped to 71 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Monday and Tuesday; advisories probable Wednesday for increasing southerly winds and also for Thursday due to high seas from Hurricane Larry that will remain well out in the Atlantic.
