Cloudy and cooler today with a chance of showers! Sunny, breezy and less humid on Friday! Nice weather for the weekend, seasonably cool on Saturday, warmer on Sunday!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are cloudy early on this Thursday morning and there are some showers mainly over northwestern New Jersey. Temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 67 in Clifton down to 62 at High Point, winds are mainly calm.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR SEPTEMBER 9TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 77 AVERAGE LOW: 59

RECORD HIGH: 92 – 2015 RECORD LOW: 44 – 1990

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 84 LOW: 64 PRECIPITATION: NONE

Luckily the Clifton area missed the heavy rain and strong thunderstorms overnight. However parts of western New Jersey received over 2 inches, but the line of storms weakened by the time it reached our area. My station only had .01″ of rain around 1 a.m.

Today the trough of low pressure will only move slowly eastward, so today will be a mainly cloudy day and cooler with a good chance of some showers. There will be gradual clearing at night.

Friday looks to be a nice day with temperatures near normal and it will be a bit breezy with gusts to 20-25 mph along with less humid air.

High pressure will dominate our weather for the weekend. Saturday’s high will be near normal and above normal on Sunday.

Warm and mainly dry weather Monday through at least Wednesday.
