High pressure off the Canadian Maritimes and a slow moving cold front approaching from the west will give us a southeasterly flow of warm and humid air today. Skies will be mostly cloudy and there is a chance of some mainly light showers during the day.

The front will be closer to the region on Thursday and it will continue to be warm and humid. Showers and thunderstorms will develop with the heaviest rain expected late Thursday into early Friday morning with 1-2″ of rain expected with higher amounts possible.

Cooler and less humid air will follow the front and we should see clearing by Friday afternoon, but there will still be a chance of a lingering shower.

The first weekend of fall looks to be quite pleasant with plenty of sunshine both days along with near seasonable temperatures and low humidity.

Pleasant weather should continued through early next week.
