Mostly sunny, breezy and mild today! Cooler on Monday with a low chance of a shower at night! Milder with rain likely Tuesday night into Wednesday!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 44 in Clifton down to 37 at High Point, winds are gusty out of the northwest.

Today we should have mostly sunny skies as low pressure moves well off the coast and a weak high moves into the area. Temperatures will continue to be above normal with highs near 50. Winds will be a little brisk with gusts to 25 mph.

Monday we should see an increase in clouds along with cooler temperatures. A weak disturbance may give us some light rain late at night that may be mixed with frozen precipitation well to our north and west.

Milder air will move into the area for Tuesday and Wednesday but rain will be likely Tuesday night into Wednesday as a stronger low pressure moves through the area.

Thursday will continue to be mild with a low chance of a shower in the morning.

Somewhat cooler Friday into New Year’s Day but temperatures will continue to be a little above normal. Low pressure on New Year’s Day may touch off some rain that could start as snow further inland to our north and west.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 29 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain mainly in the morning, high near 50.

THURSDAY – DEC 30 – Partly sunny with a chance of rain in the morning, high near 50.

FRIDAY – DEC 31 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

NEW YEAR’S DAY – JAN 1 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain or snow, high in the mid 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until midnight tonight for northwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-5 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Monday through Thursday.
